The R's have had one goal for going on 5 years now and that is to block ANY legislation put forth by the D's and even more so the President. They have not once negotiated in good faith nor have they had any real attempt at compromise the whole time. The vote count shows nothing more than how the games the R's were playing with the American People work out and it's sad to me to see that there is either dis-ingenuousness or ignorance that is behind a comment like that....

And now that we are seeing the REAL details of the ACA (see my links above) it doesn't look like the GOP was too far off base.

Talk about getting played.

Sorry, but I fail to see how my comment is disingenuous. The D's negotiated only with the more conservative D's and left the R's out of the talks. The President openly sneered at the repub's when statesmanship was called for instead. Yes, there were a lot of twists and turns that went on prior to this bill being shoved down our throats by a 100% democrat vote, but it was on the D side of the aisle. I guess that makes me ignorant in your eyes. Oh well.

What we can do now is at least propose the mechanism for how the money will be saved.

What is the formula for savings within the ACA, can someone who understands or thinks it is going to cost more or less explain why in simple steps?

How will it lower our deficit or how is it proposed to?
How will it lower our personal health care costs or make them more affordable?

I though it was well understood that this will cost us more for medicine and the solution was for Americans to spend less on other stuff. The law was essentially a fix for us not spending enough on medicine, not the opposite.
