How Well are CA Exchanges Working Out?

Doctors boycotting California's Obamacare exchange

An estimated seven out of every 10 physicians in deep-blue California are rebelling against the state's Obamacare health insurance exchange and won't participate, the head of the state's largest medical association said.

“It doesn't surprise me that there's a high rate of nonparticipation,” said Dr. Richard Thorp, president of the California Medical Association.

No problem, I'm sure Californians won't have a problem searching and waiting for health care.

California offers one of the lowest government reimbursement rates in the country -- 30 percent lower than federal Medicare payments. And reimbursement rates for some procedures are even lower.

I have a feeling doctors in CA will be moving to greener pastures.

And just like the Feds, the California healthcare exchanges are refusing to release how many people are actually signed up. Embarassed?

Does it really even matter how many sign up if doctors are not signing up? Maybe all the Hollywood actors who play doctors on TV could make up the difference.

Who needs doctors? We will just have EMT's operate on you.

California this year lowered the requirements for medical care. Letting nurses do what doctors only could do before, for example abortions. So not only are you paying more, you are getting a lesser level of health care. FTL, and you really need to broaden your sources. There is a whole world out there the unpaid interns of Huffington Post just refuse to cover. Probably can't get out of their parents basement.

$24 for a Medi-Cal office visit? I think Jiffy Lube charges more for oil changes. And they have less paperwork.

Go Obamacare!

In other states, Medicare pays doctors $76 for return-office visits. But in California, Medi-Cal's reimbursement is $24, according to Dr. Theodore M. Mazer, a San Diego ear, nose and throat doctor.

Obviously LJ can't comment on the actual topic and just needs to diss somebody.

Yeah, we've been seeing a lot of the same stuff from the Hitler Youth knuckle-draggers over at powerlineblog. Seems the Dartmouth crew that can't get out of their parent's basement are cranking out just as much drivel for the Koolaid-Drinkers.

You're comparing apples and oranges...again. Medicare is the FEDERAL program for seniors 65 and over. Medi-Cal is California's equivalent to MedicAid... They aren't even the same program...

But, hey, never let FACTS get in the way of a good rightie copy-and-paste rant from the source-free, fact-free echo chamber.
