Who treats their women better?

Hollywood or Fox News? Please elaborate but spare me the hate

Study: Hollywood execs have own 'war on women,' choking off major roles, salary from women
Hollywood executives, many of whom supported President Obama's claim that the GOP is engaged in a “war on women,” are overseeing an entertainment industry that shuts women out of key roles, director and producer positions and even big, male-sized, paychecks, according to a new and massive survey of women in media.

In their third annual Status of Women in the U.S. Media, 2014, the Women's Media Center revealed that women represented just 28.8 percent of speaking characters in the top grossing films of 2012, had just 16 percent of the top executive movie jobs in 2013, and of the 16 biggest paychecks for actors per film, not one went to a female actress.

The top earning actress, Angelina Jolie, earned $33 million, roughly the same amount as the two lowest-ranked men on that list provided by the New York Film Academy. It also quoted a 2013 Forbes ranking that showed the top 10 actresses making a collective $181 million versus $465 million for the top 10 men, or about 39 percent what the guys took home.

Very true about women directors. Only one has won an Oscar, and less than 10% of big studio movies have women as directors. You see a few more women directors on TV, but it is still way below 50%.

For some it depends on his politics.

Fox has a habit of sensationalizing actresses faux pas but I would argue that Fox doesn't exceed any other media outlets attention whoring, stop the press moments.

I have to answer the question with a question, is it Hollyweird that treats women poorly or do the starlets bring the circumstances of their diminished prominence in the corporate world upon themselves?

Consider the behavior of "ladies" such as Lindsey Lohan, Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton, and yes, Justin Bieber. The prevailing "I'm so famous I can do what ever I want" attitude of the rich and famous bears out the point that these individuals are not worthy of doing anything more than being the show ponies that they are, lead into the ring and made to perform on command. Not pretty and young anymore? Those who can't reinvent their brand because of a long and constant streak of negative encounters with law enforcement are destined to suffer the consequences of their negative behaviors and arrogance.

I think there's just as many male trainwrecks but they usually die before they're female counterparts.

The survey APPEARS incomplete or not broad enough....females (in general) are under representd,
under payed and there is NO parity in any field/class....(been that what for DECADES)....JMO

It's suppose to be specific. Hollywood is mostly liberal and Fox News is mostly conservative. If you look at compensation and leading roles of men vs women, it's easy to see where the "war on women" is.
