Hmm, I don't recall Obama using an executive order to ban gay marriage, or pushing for a law to that effect, I believe he just stated his opinion of gay marriage. Was I disappointed in his opinion, yes, did he impose that opinion on the states, or the citizens, not that I know of. Perhaps one can clarify that. The Boy Scouts of America, however, have imposed a ban on gays in leadership roles in scouting, that is a political /religious agenda that has no place in our children's lives unless you want to change the BSA to a strictly religious group under church control.

Now, since you love to throw around the word "liar" so much, I guess that makes you a liar...
Perhaps you can clarify what you mean when you say "Obama IMPOSED his opposition to gay marriage when he was first elected." I must have missed that somehow.
Is this just YOUR politics?...Just asking.
You wanna keep this up? Let's go....
No, it was from Archer and I was responding to that...
I came directly from YOUR message. That makes you a liar... That's not my problem.
pineinthegrass wrote: And keep comparing kids who are Boy Scouts to the Hitler youth. It's working well for you.
The picture wasn't "faked"...It wasn't Photoshop'd or modified, and it shows what it shows. That also makes you a liar.
If the "More Moral Scouts" want to involve their kids in something that resembles the Nazi Hitler salute, that's also not my problem.

So why did you let your child join the organization? I was a boy scout back in the day and had no idea about this.
So why did you vote for Obama when he opposed gay marriage?
And hey, I support gay marriage.
I just don't like LJ comparing boy scouts to Hitler Youth with a "fake" photo (and I've already explained how it's fake since one can post a point in time to "prove" anything). Can't you admit it's fake?
Back to the topic at hand, the picture is not of the boy scouts but of a group that is an alternative to the boy scouts and much stricter in who they allow to join, no gay scouts allowed. Now I don't know how they explain that policy to the kids, but no, I would not want my kids involved. The BSA is only marginally better, but they still have a ways to go.
I was talking with my vegetarian philosophy professor decades ago and the subject went to the Boy Scouts and his son had just joined them, but he was totally shocked, comparing them to a Hitler Youth group. "All the scoutmasters do is talk about guns and hunting."
While I have no problem with homosexual scoutmasters, I can see why a big organization like the Boy Scouts wants parents to think their children are safe and not subject to pedophiles. (And also want to avoid lawsuits.) BTW, the Boy Scouts of America has also gone to court after having been accused of hiding pedophiles in the organization, or not notifying authorities about sexual abuse.

Clearly you can't read. I did not say Obama imposed anything. I was asking a question in response to Archer. You can't see that was a question and not an absolute statement (regardless of your big bold imposed text size)??
And you are really nitpicking over one word since you can't support your original disgusting post.
Again, I was responding to...
When the children get dragged into the political wars their parents wage, nothing good can come of it. Boy scouts, and girl scouts need to let the kids just be kids and stop trying to impose some political agenda on the organizations.
So, in other words YOU are nitpicking about context, instead of what you actually wrote... Got it.
I don't give a sh*t what you were "responding to"....I can read just fine. You wrote what you wrote, and I threw it back at you and asked for more clarification.
I also don't care if you liked the picture, or what it referred to... I don't need your approval for what I post, and if you don't like it, you don't have to comment. You can shut up and let it pass.
One of the perks of being a parent is that you have the pleasure of raising your children the best way you know how, and the responsibility not only to protect them from harm but to teach them how to live in this world as contributing and responsible adults. Until they reach the age where they can make their own decisions, and that varies from kid to kid, parents have to decide who gets to influence and teach their kids. If a parent doesn't want to have her child around gays, that is their decision, it is not, however, the decision of a public organization, or school. That is my personal opinion, but I really take exception to discrimination being excused because they are trying to protect me or the children. What I chose to protect my kids from, or expose them to, is my decision, not the BSA,
