Keystone Pipeline Decision Delayed Again

Something the Dog Said wrote: Really Bob? Are you really claiming that Keystone XL will create 42,000 permanent jobs? Or are the facts actually that only 35 permanent jobs will be created, along with about 5000 temporary jobs over less than two years by transient workers building the project?

Hmm?

BTW, the contemptuous way you refer to temporary jobs done by transient workers is racist dog whistling. QED, you are a racist. Period. The debate is over. :faint:

And the plot thickens some more, getting thicker than the tar sands oil! :rofllol

"The decision to yet again delay the final permit for the popular Keystone XL pipeline was made not in the White House or at the State Department, but in a posh private residence in the Sea Cliff neighborhood in northwestern San Francisco. It was there on February 19 that former vice president Al Gore and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made the pilgrimage to Tom Steyer's home to kiss the ring of the hedge fund-billionaire turned super-donor, in exchange for $400,000 that night and a promise of $100 million more to come. Steyer's sole demand? Stop the pipeline."

From your link: "Why then is Steyer so insistent? It could be because he invested in Kinder Morgan, which is building a competing pipeline – although he has promised to divest that stake. Or it could be because of his green energy investments. But most likely it is because Steyer is a true believer and his hardened opposition to the pipeline has become impervious to evidence or argument."

UMM, being a true believer does not seem the most likely explanation to me.

"Why is Mr. Steyer so touchy about motives and transparency? The media tend to give liberal spending a pass, since they assume its motives and aims are pure. Mr. Steyer's problem—and he knows it—is that his own purity remains hugely suspect, even among his allies.

It's old news that the billionaire reaped his fortune at hedge fund Farallon Capital, via investments in "dirty" oil and coal projects. Mr. Steyer, who retired from the firm in late 2012, has since publicly repented for his prior investment ways. But what many greens remember is that he didn't do so until he was caught."

Silly Bob, it's ok to be a sludge fund, 1%-er billionaire campaign donor, as long as your motives and aims are "pure" LOL.

This guy reminds me of Charlie Sheen in "Wall St."

Sen. Manchin of West Virginia thinks he has the votes to get it though the Senate. Think BHO will sign off on it?

Being in construction most of my life, a temporary job of 1 to 2 years is fantastic.
Not to count the #'s of crutch companies that would have to hire non construction types like drivers for deliveries, wharehouse help, phone personel, manufacturing help, etc.

2 years for a hardhat is like winning at the K Derby.
