The North Dakota town in the midst of an oil boom is rapidly growing, seeing its population double to 30,000 since the 2010 Census. The average rent is $2,394 a month for a 700-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment, according to numbers released by Apartment Guide. That beats New York's average of $1,504 and L.A.'s $1,411-a-month tally for comparable space.

Those "temporary" jobs must pay pretty well...

:sarcasm: Oh, almost forgot to mention that people like to eat, drink, be entertained, and they tend to buy stuff near where they live while they aren't working. I'm sure that's a real drag on the economy of small towns like Williston, ND.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

You can't fool a socialist/"democrat", Bush blamer, Clinton lover, what does it matter, moron with little facts.
They are used to the government tit, never had to float from job to job in construction or other.
Always sucking up that gubment handout, I deserve the $$$ from that guy cause he makes more etc, etc, etc.

The pipeline would be a lifeline for alot of families.

Yep, those fifty permanent jobs will be a major "lifeline" for the US economy. Along with giving foreign corporations the right to seize land that has been in farm families for generations. And the likelihood of serious contamination to the lifeblood of America's breadbasket.

And how is this different from transporting it by rail? Rail is more dangerous and more costly.

Transporting by rail doesn't steal the property of Nebraskans who have had it in the family for generations, and had it seized by a foreign corporation by "eminent domain".

I figure if the governments, state and local, SUE the pants off of every overturned oil tanker car and make it so expensive to clean it up and pay for the damages, both actual and punitive, that pretty soon the accidents will stop.

Frankly I don't give a flip about those 50 jobs. More costly? That's the problem of TransCanada.

Idea: Why doesn't TransCanada go steal the property of Cliven Bundy, and then all those domestic terrorists and gun nuts will have something to shoot at. You seem to be okay with theft-of-property in Nebraska...Why not Nevada? Sounds hypocritical to me.

I haven't supported Bundy at all. I do have issues with the tactics of the BLM. Do you support the BLM destroying personal property when there are less violent ways to solve the issue.

I support people obeying laws; I support people who have already lost in court and had judgements placed against them obeying the laws. If a welfare/deadbeat ignores those laws for 20 years and runs up a $1million tab in back payments, fines, and late fees, then confiscating property to satisfy that debt (after 20 years) may be necessary.

The IRS confiscates property all the time for payment of back taxes. Bundy knew the rules, and chose to break them because of his wacko Sovereign Citizen views. Not my problem.

Nor am I interested in your deflections and going off into the weeds to change the subject. Nor do I care whether you "supported" Bundy or not.

"I was jus' wonderin', ......" -- Cliven Bundy

Back to the subject at hand:

If the House and Senate pass it, and then Obama vetos it. Red State Dem Senators can say they support Keystone. Think Udall in Colorado will vote for Keystone?
