Posted: 17 Jun 2014 03:55 PM PDT
The trial of "sovereign citizen" Cherron Phillips begins today in Chicago federal court on charges she slapped huge liens on then-U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, then-Chief Judge James Holderman and other top federal court officials. Phillips has professed in court that she doesn't recognize the federal system and has refused to cooperate with her court-appointed counsel.
