I was expecting a lot more from Hickenlooper, he has a business background and despite being a Democrat I thought he still had some personal integrity. I have been proven wrong. What makes it worse is that he doesn't have the spine to stand behind his decisions, if you are really an anti-gun advocate then say so and hold your ground. All of this wishy-washy "...gee, I'm really sorry now. I didn't realize I alienated so many of my employees and constituents when I took that anti-gun position..." reeks of "I'll say anything you want to hear, just re-elect me."
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford
Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
I'll believe the apology sincere when he calls a special session of the legislature with the intent of overturning the laws his signature enacted. Of course that won't happen because Hickenlooper really doesn't oppose the laws. After 4 years of hanging onto the left fringe by his fingernails he is trying a dash to the center prior to the upcoming election. We'll see if the citizens of this State buy into his disingenuous actions come November . . .
I hope they do too. I hope he confirms his firm stance to continue to support the laws that have been passed that, so far, have all been found legal by the U.S. Supreme Court.
(Gee, including the law that makes straw purchases by third parties illegal that was just upheld.)
