"Democrats aren’t the only ones feeling gloomy today. Despite the likelihood that the Republican Party will retake the Senate and increase its majority in the House, some Tea Party conservatives look around the country at the GOP’s roster of candidates and say they’ve been cheated. Rather than win by nominating hard-core right-wingers wherever possible, the party has, instead, put forward a more mainstream electoral cast including many that have been labeled, whether fairly or unfairly, as establishment types. That leads people like Erick Erickson to label today’s results a “hollow victory” in a Politico Magazine article. But while many Tea Partiers may share some of his frustration about the GOP establishment, they should reject his reflexive disgust and embrace this opportunity to not only act as a break on the Obama administration’s liberal agenda but to actually govern."...
IMHO, it's all part of the political game. No viable candidate can hold any extreme opinion, every opinion has to be qualified and homogenized so it can play to at least 51% of the public.
Regardles, it will be good to have the GOP back in control of the Senate, it's time to break the log jam in Congress and let Barry go on full display with his pen and his phone. How many vetos and Executive orders will it take before the faithful wake up and realize they are at fault for our current system of government? Rhetorical question; the faithful will never see the actual light of day. All hail King Barry!
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

RINOs are like the lumpy fart you let in a crowded elevator; you thought you knew what you were getting into but it turns out there was more substance than you originally thought and none of it is good news. As a voter and a citizen I want my candidates to tell me who they are, what they believe in, and then to actually make good on those points. Don't campaign on a conservative platform and promise me smaller government and less spending then take office and do the opposite. If a candidate has every intention of making the government larger and cooperating with others in office to do the same then say so from day one. We don't need to keep feeding the out of control, ever growing pig that is our current federal government. It's time to put on the brakes and hold elected individuals accountable for their misdeeds.

The liberal in me finds tonight's results regrettable, kudos to the GOP for pulling it off. The intellectual in me, however, thinks the next 2 years are going to be fun to watch.

The GOP did not pull it off, the dems screwed up.
If the intellectual part of you thinks watching the aftermath is fun you should reassess.
Do you really want to spent the next two years dancing on the grave of this country?

Y'all are just never happy. And I will reassess nothing, I will definitely find the Republican search for their identity interesting. They can either come together to exercise their newly found power or they can tear themselves apart over which faction really represents the GOP. I understand that you don't find that amusing, neither do I, but I will find it entertaining.

These weren't the best Republican candidates, but the Democrats betrayed the people of this state and the nation and are suffering the consequences.
