Just add up what they are deducting from his check, then see what that would get you on the open market...The market lists 100's of different policies and you'll most likely find yours on there...Of course the company will claim outlandish administrative costs as a reason for the markup..as if they have to hire 100 people to buy you a policy..Labor unions will just tell the company that they'll administer the plans for nothing..it takes like one guy a week to buy the policies..
Businesses used to have tax incentives to offer health care insurance for their employees. It was thought that big businesses could negotiate better deals than individual consumers. ACA is going to take away those tax incentives, sometimes called the Cadillac tax.

Kind of off topic, but let me jus say that I couldn't care any less or give two shits about big corp whining about "profit" in this so called Country. Right wing boomers need to take five and let the next generation take over. Ya'll have jacked everything up quite enough since the fifties. Thanks, but I've had enough. Also in addition to my link, try typing in "john mccain wasteful america" and see what pops up, and it's an old source. Pretty funny stuff, not, specially when I'm dealing with 1980's grid still.
One thing I WILL say though. In my travels, out of say two thousand, I've met about a hundred boomers that grind against the majority that wants everything to stay Mullberry summer cabin religious bass ackward commune status where the residents get to build, maintain and live in the commune, all the while working for the people "running" the commune and get the benefit of food. There is in fact a difference between communism and socialism. See; capitalist communism.
EDIT: Think of the "commune" as the Fed linked to big corp. Anything benefiting or coming in or out of the commune is ultimately tied to commune related biz. Basically everything is "commune" in the end. Ohhhh, and I've distinguished communism and socialism. So close together but completely different, however most "conservatives" or "right wing" or "republican" in my circles call it the same thing. When I say "capitalist communist" they look at me like a black lab listening to something weird.
In conclusion, I have no patience for argument as usual, so I'm basically jus throwing that out there so it's posted and the world at large can see it and try to form some critical free thought instead of being drug down in the usual outrages of the day. We NEED socialism in this country because of peeps like ya'll. We NEED to have more oversight in our various federal departments and hold people accountable and start sending Wall Streeters to jail. We NEED to start hammering the hell out of corporations and those that would hire illegal immigrants for artificially and disgusting wages. I could go on for days. Ya'll types like people like Trump, eat up the crap Hillary says and bash Obama. You stifle any kind of growth up here in the hills and fight any kind of tax increase because it's "unfair" and bullshit but yet have no problem with the Welton family TAKING HOME over a hundred and seventy billion dollars every year, then bitch about raising peoples wages. I want most boomers and yocals to take five, step off and stop destroying this country. I've met a lot of you that are still toeing the line, but a good majority is just...plain...dumb, hateful, uninformed, generally ignorant, surely attitudes and downright vile on the roadways...that you don't want to fix....or pay to fix...or anything productive except flip people like me the bird. Well, same to you.
And if THAT wasn't enough to drag this shit ass thread off topic, let me tell you something else. The ACA may have been rammed through, and believe me it could have been written SO much better, but the fact of the matter is BIG FU***** CORP won't let shit like this go down here. Ya'll types ARE THE PROBLEM. Do you understand? No...no you don't, moving on. This country could have been so flippin' great if ya'll hadn't just completely torn the place to shreds in the last sixty years. So many people died and fought for this place, and what did ya'll do? Destroyed it. Plain and simple. Now that the chickens have come home to roost, you claw and scratch and grab at ANY excuse you can cite or think up to blame the catastrophe on something or someone else. Blame yourselves boomers (most of ya's). YOU CAUSED IT. Generation X n Y thank you with both fingers up.

Sorry, but it looks like you are just posting your own "outrage of the day" and refusing to get into a debate. What are you afraid of?

It's all been very well planned out by Hussein and the collectivists. The health care system will fail. Then the government will swoop in to "save healthcare" - with a single-payer system and viola! Our health care will be federalized.

Saul Alinsky is laughing his ass off.
Ya know, if I the smallest bit of confidence that our government could pull off a single payer system that worked and wasn't another giant inefficient sinkhole, I'd be fine with it. But they can't get a handle on the VA, or medicare fraud, or military waste, or even come up with a budget... but we're all suppose to trust that THIS TIME, the biggest of all government programs will somehow be a success.

[sarcasm_font] What could go wrong? Look at Amtrack, there's a shining example of how well the Federal 'Gubment can operate a business! Are you suggesting that the 'Gubment couldn't do the same thing for healthcare?![/sarcasm_font]
BTW, my insurance went up by $200.00 a month so I have that going for me...
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
