BTW, I like your sig line

"In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.” – Mark Twain -

Sounds a lot like Obama to me

Christ and the early church was very socialist, some might even say communist. The widow giving up the penny she can't afford. The goats & sheep sermon.
Even look at the earliest religious orders, no personal property, outlawing interest bearing accounts. It was only when the Protestants came on scene that the economics changed. Jews used to be the money lenders because usury was illegal for Christians.

Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.

archer:

Start with "what would Christ do" and I'll bet you can take it from there.

Good answer, archer. I will never understand how conservatives (especially the extreme ones) don't see what is obvious to others: that their views and beliefs often fly in the face of Christ's teachings.

I've never heard President Obama say the shahada ("There is no god by Allah, and Muhammed is a messenger of God") - so no, I do not think he's Muslim.

Of course, I've never heard a clear profession of Christian faith ("I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the Living God, He's my Lord and Savior") I've heard repeated association with the Christian faith.

I think President Obama is a politician. His religion is that of politics. The religion of Politics is naturally evangelical (you want to convert as many voters as possible). Moreoever, the religion of politics tends to appeal to people of faith, clothing itself as one of God's sheep. (this is done by both sides of the issue - I find John Hagee every bit as vulgar as Rev. Wright).

I agree with you; mostly!

I agree that John Hagee is one of the largest wolves dressed as a sheep in God’s flock. I see the apocalyptic wolves as the most dangerous along with the sheep sheep that choose to follow them.

I haven’t been listening enough to know if our President has said the Shahada. If he has then I believe that it is foolish to make something of it. I see nothing about it that is offensive to my Christian faith.

The Shahada declares "No God But God" and to me that is the declaration of the Hebrew Holy Sh'ma “the Lord our God, the Lord is one.” The Shahada does add the acceptance of Muhammad as God's prophet and believe that he was one of the many. As a Christian I accept the Koran as a testament of God and much of its contents which many 285Bound posters mix together with the biographical Sira as proof of a basic Muslim hostility are no more hostile than the Israelite of the Old Testament. In both Holy testaments those inclusions are compared to the messages of the New Testament which created in a time with little need for conquest because of the monolithic Roman Empire. I find the Islamic principle of Jihad consistent with the many teachings of Jesus which are point to the enemies within the individual and within the prevailing religious institutions. I understand how both the Koran and the New Testament have been interpreted and stretched to justify the wants of the gods of ego that put before the God of the First Commandment. The Koran corrected that deficiency.

Even though I am a Christian I cannot see the creed “I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the Living God, He's my Lord and Savior” as a basis to demean the Godliness of those who adhere to other ways of knowing God. In my studies I see this statement of faith coming out of the desert theology, hermetic traditions by way “Hebrews” of the New Testament and the Saints as a personal creed rather than God’s requirement of all. It’s my heart and does not belong to the Church!

With reckless disregard of Matthew 7:1-6 Popes and leaders in the Crusader Armies slaughter the Christians of Constantinople and both Muslims and Jews in Palestine in contrast to how the Muslims treated their captives in their earlier conquest of the same lands. In our American history early Spanish Conquistadors, out of their inquisitor interpretations of Christianity passed judgments upon their captors by severing their heads from their bodies. In the meantime, millions were slaughtered over differences between Eastern Orthodox Christians and Roman Christians about the nature of the Trinity. This was later repeated between the massacres in the wars between “nations” over the succession of Popes and Holy Roman Emperors and later between the Roman Catholic and Protestant Churches and the Protestant Churches amongst themselves.

In the present we hear John Hagee, Pat Roberts, yes Pat Roberts as Satan’s wolves dressed as Christ’s sheep shout war cries for campaigns to speed up the Apocalypse. I want to credit them for encourage my intense study and discussion about Revelation. I believe I am seeing these false prophets as vanguards for an Anti-Christ rather than the Messiah.

Now who says that Islam is a religion of hatred and belligerence toward Christianity?

Let’s take the energy and the time to study, think and educate ourselves about who we have been saying and who we think we are. If we speak of Muslims without first gaining this wisdom then, as the Hebrew Bible reads, we are sinning against the 9th Commandment.

9 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

I agree with you that politicos replace religion as we know it with political principles. This goes for King Herod, Roman Emperor Constantine I who adopted Christianity and began to mold it for imperial Rome’s purpose, King James of England, King George of England and George W Bush.

After our last few Presidents relationship with the Christian Coalition our current President is being held is expected to pass a religion litmus test. President Obama does practice Politics as his first choice of scripture and US Constitution as his second and Christianity thirds rather Politics first and the Christian Coalition voting bloc second, as his predecessors did! They practiced the Emperor Constantine I/Machiavellian form of Christianity.

says a lot

A few paragraphs from the piece, since many won't click on the link...

Remember the moment: a woman with matted hair and a shaky voice rose to express her doubts about Barack Obama. “I have read about him,” she said, “and he’s not — he’s an Arab.”

McCain was quick to knock down the lie. “No, ma’am,” he said, “he’s a decent family man, a citizen.”

That ill-informed woman — her head stuffed with fabrications that could be disproved by a pre-schooler — now makes up a representative third or more of the Republican party. It’s not just that 46 percent of Republicans believe the lie that Obama is a Muslim, or that 27 percent in the party doubt that the president of the United States is a citizen. But fully half of them believe falsely that the big bailout of banks and insurance companies under TARP was enacted by Obama, and not by President Bush.

Take a look at Tuesday night’s box score in the baseball game between New York and Toronto. The Yankees won, 11-5. Now look at the weather summary, showing a high of 71 for New York. The score and temperature are not subject to debate.

Yet a president’s birthday or whether he was even in the White House on the day TARP was passed are apparently open questions. A growing segment of the party poised to take control of Congress has bought into denial of the basic truths of Barack Obama’s life. What’s more, this astonishing level of willful ignorance has come about largely by design, and has been aided by a press afraid to call out the primary architects of the lies.
