""Imagine the Department of Justice inspector general (IG) conducting a review of the Jeffrey Epstein case. It might read something like this: 'While it is clear that Mr. Epstein abused minor girls, there is no documentary or testimonial evidence that he was motivated by a deviant sexual interest in those young girls.' "

-- Kevin Brock, former assistant director of intelligence for the FBI, FBI special agent for 24 years and principal deputy director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC).

Perfect analogy, Bob. It amazes me how people can think there was no bias in the Russia investigation from the start when every "mistake" was at the detriment of Trump. Every investigator and lawyer was either a Democrat donor or a Trump hater, including the lead investigators.

I have a feeling Durham is causing a lot of these scumbags to lose sleep and hopefully, eventually, lose their freedom.

I think it more likely that they are negotiating contracts with CNN or maybe Netflix.

Sadly you're probably right. McCabe, Clapper, and Brennan have been cashing in at CNN and MSNBC where only one view is permitted.

Could that also be true for the other side?

If you're referring to FOX, yes they are more biased to the right but they also have a lot of leftist voices and actually have a couple pretty good anchors who actually don't spew bias like 100% of CNN and MSNBC anchors. There's also a whole lot of paid leftist contributors (flaming leftists not moderate pushovers). I can make you a list if you want. The reason FOX has these people and the other networks don't is because you can actually get both sides in debate form instead of having panels packed with only leftists stroking each other in agreement. This doesn't mean there are always both sides represented every minute of every program, but they do have the closet thing to balance you'll find in any form of news media. Can you think of another that has more balance? I can't.

I always wondered why some billionaire doesn't start a new network with closer to a true 50/50 balance, but I think people instinctively like to stay within their own tribes and true balance would not be very attractive to those not willing to open their minds a little.

think you need to check out ARI ON THE BEAT...msnbc..he is a lawyer and DOES include both
sides of stories, also plays devil's advocate when one side is being questioned.....relies on legal
pundits (past prosecutors who are legal eagles) AND attempts to do a balanced show.

That's one I've never watched but I'll take a look. I can't seem to find "On the Beat"... and what is the full name of ARI?

Once again, no one is held accountable because powerful people tied to Epstein are making this go away. This is disgusting. As a reminder, the Department of Justice is still being run by Trump's Attorney General Bill Barr, and Alex Acosta, who engineered the joke of a plea deal for Epstein that was investigated here, was Trump's former Labor Secretary. That doesn't mean that Trump was involved directly, because all indications are that he dumped Epstein when he discovered Epstein recruiting young girls at Mar-A-Lago, but the rot runs deep and bi-partisanly. I've no doubt that prominent Democrats (cough *Bill Clinton* cough) are caught up in this as well, but for all the QAnon conspiracy theorists out there, this is your boy's people letting pedophiles, and those who enable pedophiles, off scott free. There is no justice for the victims of these people.

Justice Dept.: ‘Poor judgment’ used in Epstein plea deal

Statement on DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility Report on Jeffrey Epstein 2006-2008 Investigation

The executive summary of a report by the Department of Justice’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) was released today to affected victims. The summary, which is available on the Justice Department website, provides the essential details about the findings of OPR’s investigation into the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida’s resolution of its 2006–2008 federal criminal investigation of Jeffrey Epstein and its interactions with victims during the investigation.

While OPR did not find that Department attorneys engaged in professional misconduct, OPR concluded that the victims were not treated with the forthrightness and sensitivity expected by the Department. OPR also concluded that former U.S. Attorney Acosta exercised poor judgment by deciding to resolve the federal investigation through the non-prosecution agreement and when he failed to make certain that the state of Florida intended to and would notify victims identified through the federal investigation about the state plea hearing.

In order to fully respect the rights and dignity of Jeffrey Epstein’s many victims, the Department first invited victims and their legal representatives to be briefed this morning on the report’s contents. The Privacy Act prohibits the Department from releasing the full report publicly, but permits the report to be disclosed upon request to a congressional committee with jurisdiction over the matter, and this has been done.

We salute the courage of survivors as they again are confronted with these horrible crimes and their aftermath. The Department will thoroughly review the report, which will inform our implementation of the Crime Victims Rights’ Act and the Attorney General’s Guidelines on Victim and Witness Assistance.

Good for Sasse, at least he has the balls to speak up.
Sasse blasts results of Justice Department's inquiry into Jeffrey Epstein plea deal
Joseph Morton, Omaha World Herald | Nov 12, 2020

The Nebraska Republican issued a statement Thursday indicating the investigation had concluded that then-U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta exercised “poor judgment” in regards to the plea agreement with Epstein.

“Letting a well-connected billionaire get away with child rape and international sex trafficking isn’t ‘poor judgment’ — it is a disgusting failure,” Sasse said. “Americans ought to be enraged. Jeffrey Epstein should be rotting behind bars today, but the Justice Department failed Epstein’s victims at every turn. The DOJ’s crooked deal with Epstein effectively shut down investigations into his child sex trafficking ring and protected his co-conspirators in other states. Justice has not been served.”

These are subscription only, but if you want to find out more behind the story of why Epstein was so well connected and able to prey on victims for so long, you should subscribe. Epstein wasn't just a pedophile.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us.
