I'm interested in hearing opinions on Trump firing EU Ambassador Sondland, as well as the Vindman twins. Appropriate or not? Justified or not? Why did it happen?

I think it was petty the way it happened but, at the same time, a president can choose his staff. Vindman wasn't fired, he was re-assigned. He had terrible reviews from his supervisors and admitted leaking classified information. He should be thankful he wasn't put on trial. Sondland was expected because he was pu in a position where he could no longer be effective as an ambassador. I didn't see the reason for the Vindman brother, but I suspect it had something to do with the manuscript leaks regarding Bolton's book. (No I don't have a link for that - as I said, "I suspect..."

You serve at the will of the President. He decided he didn't like people who weren't loyal. Another 70 leftovers from the Obama administration were also let go this week. Would you want people on your staff who constantly went to the press with leaks?

Actually there appears to be some debate going on, leftover Obama DOJ people recommended a much longer sentence than was appropriate for the crime, especially for an older guy, 69 IIRC. Why Trump's DOJ reduced the sentence. 9 years sounds pretty excessive to me.

He threatened a witness. You can't do that. He's an old blowhard and thought he was above the law or thought he could get away with a text.... Interestingly, none of the charges were anything to do with Russia or Wikileaks. Another crime of cover up...
