Suddenly, Schumer Grows a Brain!

It's a rare 9 seconds of common sense for this dumbass. Guess it's better than nothing... we should all know it's more about what the polls are telling him to say... these people couldn't run a lemonade stand.

Governor Cuomo is also on board with children physically attending school. I really thought the teacher's unions would force both of these politicians to retract their statements but it is still the policy of New York State. Nice to see politicians putting children ahead of their traditional anti-Trump bias.

Our school administrators are doing a "hybrid" model....which I believe is well thought out and doable....duel
methods of attending, teachers and students who DO NOT feel comfortable will be on line (zoom,I think)
those that want to attend in person will have that opportunity. A CHOICE....that's a good thing.

I know the mother of 4 girls....she is NOT sending them back..ages 5 thru 14.

The harm done to children who do not attend school in person may not be immediately noticed but I fear it will be evident down the road. Some children may have good parents who properly incentivize their children to be disciplined enough to learn from home but there will be many children who need the daily forced structure in order to keep up, especially if parents are working. We'll see how this all pans out over time but my guess is that this experiment is going to have a very bad result overall.

I do not have a horse in this race, BUT, from teachers I know, articles I have read,an administrator I have an acquaintance with...there is a PROBLEM already, long before the virus..for the most part parental guidance
is VERY LAX. THIS presents the teachers and school with a HUGE behavioral problem...the classroom
is the babysitter and the child is NOT being parented at home, and has NO INCLINATION to adhere to schools structure...attitudes are disobedient.

Not so sure.
Seems like schools today are turning out woke fools rather than the movers and shakers of tomorrow. Not going to school might make them less the fool.

Some educators are very worried that our children will have their socialization skills degrade, and even worse, the youngest grades won't develop them at the proper ages.
Strangely while schools are still debating, I have seen daycares have reopened. Hopefully the kids will be able to develop there.

It depends on the city. Imagine how many more future criminals will be hatched in cities like Chicago when kids have more time to roam the streets. Mark my words, this criminal boom will make the baby boom look small.

Sorry, it's a UNIVERSAL problem...not isolated to any specific state/locale.

I agree it is a universal problem but it's much worse for kids that already have garbage schools located in poorly run cities. Just do some research into how much money is spent to educate kids in these big liberal cities like Chicago, Baltimore, LA, etc and then look at the proficiency rates in math and it's pretty obvious that those kids are going to be even more doomed if the schools don't open.
