She will be President Trump's third Supreme Court Justice appointed. And she will be appointed on Hillary Clinton's birthday. Nice to see a reputed misogynist like President Trump appointing more female justices. Sometimes you have to look at a man's deeds rather than his reputation.

Justice Thomas will swear her in.

Many conservatives felt that President Trump should have nominated Justice Barrett for the seat which Justice Kavanaugh now occupies. He made a decision to nominate Kavanaugh and to to let Kavanaugh take the heat of a very vituperative process. It paid off. The demcrats did not try to assail the character of Justice Barrett like they did to Kavanaugh, public support simply wasn't there .
One might suppose that President Trump "played the odds" that Ginsburg would die before his first term was up, and they may be right.
After the Kavanaugh debacle the democrats had nothing left in their arsenal. Justice Barrett went through the process without a hitch.
Score: President Trump 3, democrats nil.

to not be manipulated by outside factors?

Let us hope that she emulates Ruth Bader Ginsburg in her non-partisanship.

Na, I think what they honestly believe is that their supporters are stupid, easily led and easy to enraged. Vote Biden or the world will end.

Ermagawd! It's simple arithmetic, Fred. Cases will be brought before the Supreme Court, cases with concerns to same sex marriage, LGBTQ rights, civil rights, voting rights, personal rights like abortion, and yes, the ACA. With the conservatives holding a 6-3 advantage, those issues listed will be endangered. But yay for Trump! Right guys? Your side wins! That's what it's all about, right!

The question the court is supposed to answer is if these things are constitutional or not, not what the justices' personal preference is on the issues. That's why replacing Ginsburg with an originalist like Barrett is a great thing. She will be fair and impartial unlike the justice she is replacing.
