Macron Understands the American Wokeness Monster

Funny how even the French see what's happening to our country.

Politicians, prominent intellectuals, and academics in France have voiced concern that 'out-of-control leftism and cancel culture' from the United States is threatening French identity.

They are arguing that American ideas on race, gender, post-colonialism – especially those coming from U.S. universities – are undermining French society and are an attack on French heritage.

The collection of intellectuals arguing that France is being contaminated by the leftism of America was buoyed on last year after French President Emmanuel Macron appeared to side with them.

Isn't this what America should be concentrating on instead of intentionally dividing us by race, gender, and religious ideology? (I include government worship as a religion)

It is illegal in France to collect data based on race and for many, the country's national identify rejects diversity and multiculturalism, instead focusing on fundamental rights and core values like equality and liberty.

If you don't have a national identity, you will no longer have a country worth living in... you most certainly will never be UNITED.

Anne Garréta, a French writer who teaches in universities in France and the U.S., has also argued that many of the leading thinkers on the subject have come from France, not from the U.S., as claimed.

'It's an entire global world of ideas that circulates,' she said.

'It just happens that campuses that are the most cosmopolitan and most globalized at this point in history are the American ones.'

Is that really the big problem? That's like saying the problem of the Chinese virus is just the ability for people to travel between countries and not the source of the virus. The source of the woke cancel culture virus is right here in the US, THAT is the problem.

England is also too woke to believe. Midwives there are being told to call them chests instead of breasts, and chest-feeding instead of breastfeeding. France has always tried to protect and insulate their culture against America and the rest of Europe. Example? A high percentage of movie theater films have to come from France.

MY personal experience (altho I have never been to France) was within the context of my job. As a ATT
LONG LINES OVERSEA OPERATOR....(showing my age here)...in the day ,there was NO direct dial oversea. Your call was placed thru an overseas operator. THAT meant calling an IOC (international operating center) and providing info,THEN the operator would complete your call, thru that countries operator.

The French operators were CONSISTENTLY snobbish,somewhat difficult and seemed disinterested in
assisting. (the calls did go thru)...No small talk,mostly silence unless more information was needed.

On the other side of the coin, JAPAN was the best to deal with,the Philippines were slow,but diligent
(sometimes because there were only two or three phones in the villages (operator ring backs were common). Calls to Korean bases were relatively easy. Samoa Islands took naps, mid day...so U waited

THE SHANGHAI position was structured as a one on one basis,only one operator passing a call, then it
was assigned a serial number and YOUR CALL then was received and assigned a serial number...the
parties would call in their serial numbers to the operator and the call then would be completed.

My FIRST job with corp America.....actually was unique and interesting.

Lists are being made of Trump supporters and the people on these lists are losing jobs and opportunities for the crime of not being in line with Democrats and their insane policies. It's not just Trump supporters, it's anyone who may not comply with a woke ideology that demands compliance and conformity.

If you don't think this is a dangerous and anti-American trend, I just don't think you understand what this will do to this country if the trend continues.

Agreed, but that has nothing to do with this new culture of cancelling people and businesses because of their ideologies and beliefs. I still don't think you understand what's happening here.
