Vaccine Experiences?

The wife and I got our first shot of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday. So far, no bad reactions or side effects. BTW, you don't need to be a member of Kaiser to request an appointment. We went to the Hidden Lake facility for our shot. Well run and efficient. We went early to our appointment, no waiting line. They did have us sit down and wait for 15 minutes just in case we had a bad reaction. But still, we were out of there in 16 minutes.
The WSJ wrote today that there will be enough vaccines by mid-May to give every American a shot. And the latest polling says 88% of Americans are willing to get their "jab" soon. In the good news/bad news side of things? We will soon have a vaccine glut. Hopefully the extra vaccines make it to Mexico and Canada, as both countries are well behind the vaccine curve.

I'm getting mine on Monday, here in Costa Rica. I'll let you know how it turns out.

BTW, they're vaccinating everyone who is age eligible. Right now, it's just health workers and old people, regardless of nationality.

I hope that all goes well with your respective injections. It is ironic that no one ever wishes best of luck to a flu shot recipient.

Both my spouse and I received our vaccinations in Jan/Feb, one Pfizer, the other, Moderna. No side effects.

As I predicted, ruefully, proof of vaccination is going to be required for various activities. NYC is developing an app that will have vac status and latest test results. This proof will be necessary to access venues.

They're giving Pfizer here, as well. It's going to be weird with me having been vaccinated and and my wife not. She's 11 years younger than me so she doesn't fit into the current old age category.

Our doctor, a doctor, was vaccinated last month. Her first week of residency, she had a to self-quarantine after an OB patient came in to deliver and didn't know she had COVID.

Most of my family got Covid about 2 months ago and luckily nobody had any major issues. My daughter is a CNA and student at UNC and has been working in nursing homes that had living and dying Covid patients, but she was never infected somehow. We've all gotten vaccinated with Pfizer and no issues there.

I am concerned that the government will use the pandemic as an excuse to force masking and distancing/closures during future flu seasons or if Covid sticks around forever. Now that the autocrats know how to control the population, I think they will continue to use that control. I hope I'm wrong.

Reminds me of attending school in the 50s and 60s. A parent couldn't enroll a child without their proof of vaccinations. In fact, vaccinations were done at school.
