You didn't give me a link to the question and I couldn't find it. If you can find it or someone else can find it, I will praise your ability to navigate the internet, and if the question proves my assumption wrong, I will concede that I was wrong and will apologize for all the time you spent finding the mysterious question (I don't think you can find it btw, but this is fun anyway).

The Economist/YouGov Poll

I'm not sure you found the right question Wayne. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but I don't see anything that asks Trump voters specifically how they feel about Putin. All the headings are US Adults and the one question about Putin doesn't say anything about who was answering the poll.

Wayne Harrison wrote: OK. Let's bring it home. Who do you view more favorably: Biden or Putin?
First, lets just acknowledge the fact that you can't find the question that was asked in order to come up with that poll... agreed?
As for your question, it's a bit vague don't you think? Do I think Putin is a more assertive and mentally coherent leader? Yes
Do I think Putin is a better person than Biden? No, I'm fairly certain Putin is responsible for the murder of quite a few people.
Do I think Putin has a better understanding of military strategy than Biden and if given the choice to use his brain or Biden's in a military conflict, I'd pick Putin without a doubt. Biden is too far gone and needs notes for everything. I'm not sure Joe could navigate an all you can eat buffet by himself.
I believe Biden is a nicer guy for sure, although the way he ripped into that CNN reporter yesterday... nope, still a nicer guy. But as the leader of the most powerful country in the world, I'm quite certain that his personality is the lowest on my list of priorities.
This is why I asked how the poll question was worded, because it makes a huge difference. It would be like me asking you who you view more favorably, Harvey Weinstein or Bernie Madoff ?

In the words of the memorable Pauline Keel, paraphrasing as no one knows the actual quote " I don't now anyone who voted for Nixon." ( she lived on the upper east or west side of Manhattan at the time. )
What this means is look at the internals of the polls. If you are concerned.
More importantly put on C Span and watch Slow Joe's performance.
It's no secret that many Republicans (and Trump) view Putin favorably.
Ugh, come on Wayne, you just did the same thing. What was the poll question? I don't have time to search but I'm assuming you were ready this time with the actual poll question, right?
If I was asked in a poll if I thought Putin was a strong leader, I would be honest if I answered Yes. A weak leader would not have lasted as long as he has. That's not to say that his strength means he's kept his power through democratic means, it just means he's not a weak leader. Pollsters can take answers to questions and come to their own conclusions without being questioned as to how they came to those conclusions. Rick thinks Putin is a strong leader, therefore he has a favorable view of Putin. That is false.
If you don't think it's important to know exactly what the poll question is, then you should never ever trust a poll.
If you click the link at the bottom of your link "view survey methodology..." , that link goes nowhere... what a surprise.
