I don't know if your daughter is collecting data comprehensively or not, but it completely differs from what UC Health is seeing, and as you say, it's only one hospital. The CDC collects data from hospitals across the country so their data is more comprehensive.

Why are Colorado COVID-19 cases spiking?

Those who are unvaccinated comprise about 80% of infections. At UCHealth hospitals, that ratio holds: 78% of those hospitalized and 91% of those in ICUs are unvaccinated. The ones hospitalized despite being vaccinated are often immunocompromised or significantly older.

I'm sorry SC, but could you please post the actual numbers if they are being tracked? The text you've copied doesn't show the actual numbers of re-infections vs vaccinated breakthrough cases. I'm not saying those numbers are not listed anywhere, I'm just saying I can't find them.

The reason I'm so curious about how many people have been infected twice is because if covid is like the flu, then it's extremely unlikely you would get it twice in one year.

My non-scientist/doctor theory is that new viruses are easier for children to deal with and once they had a virus at a young age, they are much more likely to get through it in later years when they contract it again. Where as an older person getting a new virus has a much more difficult time getting through a virus their body has never seen before.

I really think we all have to get it for real progress to be made, so we have to focus on therapeutics instead of an endless number of boosters that is only going to prolong the inevitable and make the pharma companies richer.

My chirop.has acquired it 3 times, because of close proximity to one on one contact....she 34 and not vac.
She also is a holistic chirop. with a MASTERS and ADV. DEGREES....she can read "films",when most N. P.
can not...most doctors rely on lab notes and do not "read" films ,unless that is their specialty.....she has
NEVER been hospitalized for covid.. So,from what I gather,EACH PERSON will be subject to this virus, but
each person will respond in a totally different way DEPENDING upon their health. So, that leaves the issue with a lot of gaps.....jmo

Got Covid 3 times? I find that hard to believe but maybe you do. My daughter has been treating covid patients since the start and about half of the people she works with have gotten covid and not one has gotten it twice. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but so far it's looking pretty rare.

It seems the symptoms vary each time...each incident has factors of covid.....could be another virus floating around, but the descriptive symptoms of covid r present....hasn't lost smell or taste. MY brother and wife had it a couple weeks ago...HE just had extreme fatigue and migraines, ache over entire body..lasted 3 0r 4 days.
SHE had temp...lost taste and bad migraines....STILL not over it, but better.

HE IS 10 YR OLDER THAN SHE......

It's in the tables in the original MMWR I posted: www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/pdfs/mm7044e1-H.pdf . Click to open if these screen shots of those tables make it too hard to read.

Thanks SC, I appreciate you pointing that out. As for the data, am I not reading it right or do they show that there are far fewer unvaccinated re-infections than there are infections of vaccinated people?

I'm guesing about 1% or less of the population has looked at these tables and they are certainly not being mentioned by media that the vast majority of people get their news from. At this point, the people of this country deserve to know all the information, even if it doesn't fit the Fauci narrative.

You aren't reading it right. :) It's 9% of unvaccinated (89 of 1,020) are re-infected vs 5% of vaccinated (324 of 6,328) with Moderna-vaccinated individuals being even better at 4.2%.

None of us has any true idea of what people are reading (it's not like the CDC provides web stats of viewership or page clicks, but this survey should scare the bejesus out of us all), but the data is there for all to see so the title of this thread is flat out wrong, as you yourself have just discovered. The media is what it is and, as I've urged til I'm blue in the face, always go to the source and read it for yourself. It's why I videotape political debates, town hall meetings, etc, rather than just telling you what I heard spoken, or sharing news coverage of it. Nothing beats the first-hand source and thinking about it critically.

One of my friends has been in the ICU for a couple of weeks. She got her vaccines, her caregivers also got their vaccines, they are all masked and gowned. She has been in the hospital for months. She found out on Monday that she has Covid-19. I am starting to not trust the vaccine.

WHAT was she in the hospital for that has lasted MONTHS?...hospitals R THE FIRST culprit. No wonder she came down with covid....ICU is not a safe place either.
