Yes, me too. I am sure you have noticed the several changes in
TOS in the study and in what direction they always go.

K is or at least used to be a mod.

SC, kudos for moving rather than ever deleting a post but this place now reminds me of what PC used to be.

Did you ever explain why you hid the study from the gen pop?

There is a simple answer to this.....I have spoken to SC about the THANK U icon on my profile not showing up....here is what she stated, the present company they have a server with is NOT efficient and they r having massive problems with it. They r not responsive to her and she is frustrated, They r searching (as we speak) for a NEW PLATFORM...there r many problems that need to be addressed and it is consuming a vast amount of her time to find/install a new platform. She is aware of the issues and until
the NEW company is found,it is what it is.

BB, I'm not entirely sure if you are talking about PC or MMT, as we do not have a Study forum/sub-forum, and have never had a moderator by the name or initial of "K". Yes, the level of moderation for the Courthouse changed, but not since 2014 and at the time you applauded it as a good move. All we've done since is enforce that level. The TOS for the site hasn't changed since 2018.

The Courthouse has also not been hidden from the general population, it has simply been removed from the Recent Topics feed on the Forum index page. You can see right here on our Home Page that Courthouse posts are displayed right there under Recent Posts.

If I had my way, those wouldn't display there either, but I can't find how to edit that feed like I could the Recent Topics feed in the Forum. Even if the posts weren't displayed on the Home Page, they still wouldn't be hidden from the "general population" as anyone not logged in can still go right to the Courthouse and see what's posted, unlike The Ring in which someone HAS to log in to see the posts.

The reason for removing the posts from the Recent Topics feed was explained here.

I have no idea why you keep referring to Voldemort, nothing has been deleted and personal insults are not forbidden, just not permitted in this subforum. Each response that was moved, in some part, discussed the person who posted, which is what The Ring is for not The Courthouse. If you want your posts to remain here in the Courthouse, discuss the article which was posted, not how the poster feels about the subject of the article, about how "lefties" are acting, etc. The example you mentioned is talking about Trump, not you or anyone else who posted here.

It would be nice if more people participated here. They aren't going to do so if they feel they are going to be attacked, and since our software doesn't allow for members to block other members, it's left to moderators to set guidelines and put posts where they belong if posted in the wrong place. That is the whole goal, not to "censor" those whose posts are moved.

Our Home Page is a reflection of what this business is all about and there were topic titles and content that did not reflect this business's mission to be welcoming, friendly, and inclusive to all (politics as a topic does not lend itself to being nice and friendly). You are entitled to your opinions and to share them, but I am under no obligation to present them front and center on our Home Page or in our Recent Topics for members and guests to see and think that this is what this business is about. Each individual thus has the choice to find out what's posted in the Courthouse as they desire, and participate if they wish.

As to the search function, if you are having trouble finding something, you are always welcome to contact me for help. The split is irrelevant as all posts (and members) that were made/here before the split are here as well. The only posts not here are the ones made on 285B after we moved to our new platform. When searching, be sure to change the default "one year ago" to "any date", as I have found that is the one that trips me up the most. You can narrow it down by Forum, by poster username if you remember who posted what you are looking for, topic title versus whole posts, or date range. The most annoying thing about the last software update is that in the list of results that comes back for a search, it will show you the exact post that contains the keyword for which you searched, but when you click that entry, it takes you to the beginning of the thread, not that one reply you saw in the results so you have to make note of the date and time of the post before you click so you know where to find it in the thread (particularly the long, multi-page threads) and go page-by-page until you reach it.

HA, I re-found the Thank You button, let me know if you still don't see it.

Sorry for the long response, please feel free to get back to the topic at hand. BTW, Cheney may try to run, but she'll never get past the primary. It's a shame that politicians are punished for doing the right thing - and that applies to Manchin as well who was vilified by the Democrats for holding the line when he thought it necessary. Both he and Cheney were called traitors to their parties and shame on all who did that to either, and to those who applauded one but not both based on your own party affiliation.

Why do you not think that Liz Cheney would never get past the democrat primary? I thought that democrats revered individuals who put Constitution above the party?

Why do you think she’ll run as a Democratic candidate? I’ve seen nothing indicating she is changing her party affiliation.

Well, the Wyoming Republican Party has repudiated her. One can oneself whatever they want. She is more than welcome to register as a republican, but the voters of Wyoming obviously do not agree that she is a republican. Perhaps she will change her address to Virginia where she lives and run form there.
Why shouldn't the democrats welcome with open arms?

You are making my point for me. Why should the Democrats have to welcome her? Again, shame on those who vilify politicians who stand up for what's right, especially if it's against party line - we should all be applauding that, not remonstrating them. Calling her a RINO, "repudiating her" from the party, censuring her in Congress for speaking out against any who would go against the rule of law - it's all indicative of a broken party that puts party loyalty above loyalty to country and their constituents.

It's no wonder our politics are so messed up, and it's on not just the politicians, but each and every citizen who cares more about their party "winning" than what's right for our country and each other.

If Biden or another Democrat wins in 2024, I could see making Liz Cheney a cabinet member. A token "RINO'. Could put her in charge of the Department of Energy. A reward for standing up to President Trump.

SC,
The question is not " Why should the Democrats have to welcome her? " Rather why wouldn't they if your assertions about standing up for what's right is what she did.

Though your scenario isn't grounded in any sort of logical reality based on the evidence at hand, and continues to ignore the points I made, in the event that Cheney decided to switch parties I don't see why the Democratic Party wouldn't welcome her in the same way that they did State Sen. Kevin Priola, who was immediately faced with calls for a recall by his former party for his switch and demonstrating once again that it's all about party loyalty and not for standing up for the rule of law in this country. :smackshead:
