The Texas Elementary School Shooting

27 May 2022 09:16 #1 by FredHayek
Facts are still coming out, but it appears that the 18 year old Hispanic man was shooting as he was going into the school. The police followed him in, but then retreated to wake for backup after they took fire from the perpetrator.

They waited for forty minutes before going back in. How many children died in that time? And are policemen all over the country embarrassed about their cowardice?

I remember an old Texas Rangers story, one mob? Only need one Ranger to stop it. Not anymore?

As with evolving situations the initial reporting is often incorrect.
It is disturbing to hear the the Texas DPS say that the officers present were afraid of being shot and therefore did not enter the building, leaving it to Border Patrol SWAT.
Also it is being reported that the door entrance from the teacher's parking lot was not locked and ingress was gained through this door.
Additionally it is reported that there was no armed safety officer in the school.

I sincerely hope that this three points are found to be false.

"legitimately reported....the bodies were so mangled and maimed (shot to hell),they needed DNA from relatives to match the body parts to the family."

Your citation does not refer to this point. Who is your "legitimate" reporter?

With all the outrage about lack of action by police (which I agree with mostly), what about the teacher who propped the locked door open which allowed the killer to enter? Shouldn’t we be bashing teachers since that’s how ‘we’ treat cops when one guy makes mistakes that cause death?

The teacher or teachers who propped the door open. in my mind, had an attitude that "this can happen here". He/She will have to carry the guilt of propping the door for the rest of his/her life. I do not think that this particular day was the only one on which the door was propped open, what I would like to know if the shooter had surveilled that door in previous days. Could it be that it is why he picked this particular school?
Lots of questions to be answered, all the above is conjecture.

may have been so severely wounded and grouped so closely together that they were difficult to identify, according to experts in medical forensics.

All of the dead and injured were in one classroom at Robb Elementary where the gunman had barricaded himself, Lt. Chris Olivarez, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman, told CNN.

The gunman had also purchased two “AR platform rifles” and 375 rounds of 5.56 ammunition, which is often used in the military, the authorities said.

A high-powered firearm can cause very devastating injuries and can make identification challenging from a visual point of view,” Dr. James R. Gill, Connecticut’s chief medical examiner, said in an interview on Wednesday.

DNA testing, he said, is not only more accurate, but it also spares parents the trauma of having to view photos like the ones that were shown to parents after 20 children were fatally shot at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.

“More and more offices are moving to scientific methods for identification because, with visual identification, the parents are in shock, you’re showing them a photograph, they’re in denial,” Dr. Gill said.

DNA testing also helps the authorities be as certain as possible that they are positively identifying fatally injured children who may look or dress alike and who don’t have ID cards, tattoos or fingerprints on file.

DNA testing can be performed in about an hour, Dr. Gill said, and makes it much less likely that the authorities release the wrong body to a family, which he called a “nightmare” scenario for medical examiners.

The acting official that I.D.ed bodies, the town had no courner ,said that it was near impossible to make
out specific bodies, the carnage was so great....DNA then became the answer.

I'm sorry HA, but this is the second time you felt it neccessary to describe the condition of the dead bodies. Dead is dead and I can't understand why it's important to keep bringing up the visual.

If you think that's a constructive way to make an argument, I can think of another subject where those visuals would be very helpful to change hearts and minds. That would be the abortion of a healthy third trimester baby... arms, legs, and head ripped from the innocent life and thrown into a bucket. Ah, but that's just too graphic and we don't need to talk about that.

In that you can't be bothered to read your own citations, let's try to deal with your words as difficult it is to ascertain them.
Oops, I can't find any of your words, can you help me?
