The former VP candidate will be on the ballot for Alaska's lone congressional seat in November. She will be competing against three others, a male Republican, a female Democrat and one who remains to be named.
How much money will come north to defeat the former mayor?

Alaska has a ranked voting system, this is its initial test. I would ask the order of ranking that your brother indicated in his ballot or did he vote for one candidate only?

GOOD QUESTION...we talked about the structure of the voting system and he was ADAMANT that he did not fill in any other selections(candidates).....he wanted HIS vote to count to Beigch only.
As I understand the Alaska voting system, for example, a candidate for office can affiliate with whatever party but all candidates regardless of party are in the same election. In the case of the Alaskan run-off election to fill the seat of deceased Rep. Young, there are 2 republicans ( Palin, Begich) and 1 democrat constituting the top 3 vote getters. The 3rd place finisher, Begich is eliminated and those ballots that were in his favor will be allotted to whomever was the second choice on one's ballot. Based on the new number of votes for either of two remaining candidates, the winner is that with the most votes. That being a total of the first place votes he received and the second place votes from the eliminated candidate Begich.
If your brother were a committed Republican but he did not indicate Palin as his second choice, he effectively helped out the democrats. As is his prerogative.
Ramage, that is my understanding of the structure.....my brother (or for that matter, any other ALASKAN)
BORN would slice their wrists, than vote for Palin. My brother is a conservative Independent, I think the Democrat u r referring to is an Alaskan native Indian, she does have a following. I thought he was leaning towards her...But I known damn well he would not let his vote default, thus his SINGULAR vote.
Beigch is big name,NOT big farce....PALIN may have Trumps backing, but she does NOT have credibility and Beigch does.

THAT is correct. She STARTED OUT as a common sense candidate that everyone thought was the answer.
(BUT,much like her V.P. run, she morphed into a political animal that was NOTHING like what was ADVERTISED.) I guess when u enter politics (in earnest) U become aware that the things U honor, like integrity, attempting to change the structure.....r NOT DOABLE and U join up with the gang, GO ALONG TO GET ALONG....She ended up running Alaska into some REALLY bad decisions and when the people who elected her saw the reality...they were NOT happy Campers and THEN JOHN MCCAIN managed to slip into the mess and flew into Anchorage in the dead of nite and the result was a massive mistake.
Todd and Sarah Palin divorced in 2020. His family supports the male Republican candidate. That should make Thanksgiving very interesting in Sarah's home.
