Canada is exploring more euthanasia and even starting to look at it for the elderly poor. First deny them medical treatment, and then offer them a medically assisted suicide. Think this will become more popular? And will longevity rates crash?"

Assisted suicide has been legal in Canada since 2016. According to Forbes, Canada leads the world in assisted suicides, with 10,064 in 2021 as compared to 7,666 in the Netherlands. Eighty-one percent of global requests for medically-induced deaths were honored in Canada.

Canada now considers and encourages assisted suicide for the following reasons.
" Hearing loss, depression, and indeed any physical or mental disability is considered a reason for murdering a person through assisted suicide. And if the idea doesn’t occur to you on your own, the medical professionals and even counselors will helpfully suggest offing yourself without prompting. In some cases they may even refuse a patient care as an incentive to wish for death."

I know that Colorado is competing with other states for the abortion business, however Colorado is lacking in the assisted suicide business behind Canada. Hey Colorado compete, Canadians come here for surgery, e.g. joint replacements, let's go after the assisted suicide business.

do u realize that individuals have been maintaining their autonomy on this subject (for centuries))...thru
walking thru the woods on a winters day, dying of exposure,thru natural herbs that when combined
correctly induce death, thru taking their shotgun and trucking into a secluded location,thru collecting rx's and
downing a liter of "the best" liquor, thru choosing to "fly" into the distant horizon (from a very high location)
IT IS A CHOICE, if the body is breaking down beyond repair. again, MY BODY, MY CHOICE.

The irony of this is that healthy people have the means to take their own lives, an option that isn't given to many of those who are the most ill.

"the most ill"......if it was a catastrophic accident,yes I see the difficulty (but where there is a will ,there is a way)....IF it is a progressive disease and knowledge of that condition was KNOWN.....TIME is the factor,the decision CAN BE accomplished. MAID is a choice made IN ADVANCE....(where it is legal)...moving to a state that has legalized it is a CHOICE.. NEW MEXICO has legalized N.P. AND P.A. for this procedure. Here in Colorado, only a doctor can write. (I have considered moving to N. M.because of the latitude of this choice. BUT, the crime rate is off the charts....)

Always had an issue with doctors finishing someone off, but you know it happens all the time.
