Mexican Election Voting Today

A woman is the lead candidate to become the new president of the nation. She would be the first woman leader in the history of North America! Surprising when you consider the macho attitude of Mexico.
On a more disturbing note, 37 of the candidates for office have been assassinated! We think elections in America are crazy but at least we don't have cartels taking out the candidates they don't want to see win.

President Trump in 2016 also threatened to lock up Hillary Clinton. Was he able to accomplish this? Or was it just another empty campaign promise? Candidates are always overpromising and underdelivering. Back on topic: Claudia Sheinbaum became the first women leader of a North American nation. She also was the first Jewish leader in North, and possibly all of Latin America. Impressive!
She will have huge challenges fighting the cartels in her six year term. I wish her all the best.
