Former President Donald Trump posted to his Truth Social platform on Thursday, repeating his demand that CBS lose its broadcast license for edits made to Vice President Kamala Harris’s 60 Minutes interview this month, which is standard practice for the time-limited program. Trump went so far as to argue that Harris’s involvement in the interview should be investigated and President Joe Biden should replace her atop the Democratic ticket as his opponent.
FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel released a statement last week saying, “While repeated attacks against broadcast stations by the former President may now be familiar, these threats against free speech are serious and should not be ignored.” She added:
"As I’ve said before, the First Amendment is a cornerstone of our democracy. The FCC does not and will not revoke licenses for broadcast stations simply because a political candidate disagrees with or dislikes content or coverage."
