What’s your favorite current or semi current conspiracy theory? Maybe you have one or two you are inclined to believe, or you see the other side believing some kind of nonsense.

There’s a few, but my current favorite is that Trump orchestrated the first assassination attempt and that it really wasn’t a bullet that hit his ear.

Do any of you believe that one?

Anyway, post your favorite(s) and maybe we can finally agree on something.

Voter fraud.

It's almost non-existent, yet people believe it is rampant.

A majority of Americans worry this year’s general election will be tainted by fraud, according to a new NPR/PBS News/Marist poll out Thursday — an ominous finding for the thousands of local election officials across the country tasked with administering voting.

Almost 6-in-10 Americans say they’re concerned or very concerned that there will be voter fraud this election, a number that experts say is driven in large part by Donald Trump’s continued false insistence that elections can’t be trusted. Eighty-eight percent of voters who say they support the former president say they are concerned there will be fraud, compared with 29% of those who support the Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris.

In the four years since the 2020 election, there has never been any evidence of widespread voter fraud in that contest, and numerous audits, studies and investigations (including those led by Republicans) have confirmed the results many times over.

“This conversation is so much deeper than even the mechanics of election administration,” said Stephen Richer, the Republican county recorder in Maricopa County, Ariz. “It’s more about, how do you convince someone of the truth?”

With the lack of ethical behavior in our government combined with the overall inefficiencies and ineptness, I find it hard to believe our government could properly investigate anything. Voter fraud does happen and people get prosecuted for it... we just don't know exactly how much fraud is being committed.

So to be truthful, you can't say there is no voter fraud in our elections, you can only say that you don't think enough fraud to make a difference. Can we agree on that? If voter fraud investigations were given the same amount of time and resources as a Trump investigation that lasts for years (aka Russia Hoax), maybe the citizens would feel a little more confident that our elections are 100% accurate. And no, I'm not saying I know voter fraud is prevalent enough to make a difference, I just think we need to be skeptical with anything this government does given it's recent record. There's a reason why most countries would never allow mail in voting... they know how much easier it is to cheat when there is no physical body voting.

Trust in all of our institutions is at an all time low, and it's for good reasons.

MY fav, alto nothing to do with Trump.....Star people (aliens) r here and have been for eons. The extraordinary technology that has been seen in ancient architecture, the methods of farming, irrigating, water
distribution, the "art" on hillsides/mountains that could only be depicted from a space perspective (downward view of earth).......I think it is extremely egotistical that WE THINK, we r the only intelligent life.

(and yes, I think the attempt on Trump's life was REAL, the exact question would be "who was actually orchestrating the plan?" )

Ooooh, another of my favorite conspiracies - well, maybe not a conspiracy, but it's equal to people that think the earth is flat, moon landing faked, etc.

"The Russian Investigation Hoax"

In fact, it was found that there was communication and coordination between the trump campaign and Russia.

www.acslaw.org/projects/the-presidential...-the-mueller-report/

The Special Counsel investigation uncovered extensive criminal activity

The investigation produced 37 indictments; seven guilty pleas or convictions; and compelling evidence that the president obstructed justice on multiple occasions. Mueller also uncovered and referred 14 criminal matters to other components of the Department of Justice.

Trump associates repeatedly lied to investigators about their contacts with Russians, and President Trump refused to answer questions about his efforts to impede federal proceedings and influence the testimony of witnesses.

A statement signed by over 1,000 former federal prosecutors concluded that if any other American engaged in the same efforts to impede federal proceedings the way Trump did, they would likely be indicted for multiple charges of obstruction of justice.

Russia engaged in extensive attacks on the U.S. election system in 2016

The investigation “identified numerous links between the Russian government and the Trump Campaign” and established that the Trump Campaign “showed interest in WikiLeaks's releases of documents and welcomed their potential to damage candidate Clinton”

Another conspiracy theory. This one from a nationally elected official to the U.S. House of Representatives.

She's referencing hurricane Helene.

Marge, representing the 14th district in Georgia, thinks that hurricane Helene was created by "they."

Who is "they?"
