Work/Life Balance?

Work/Life Balance? was created by FredHayek

Should you press your hardest when you are young and in peak condition?

Or should you spend your 20's finding the right balance in life?

Probably depends on the person.

Life experiences taught me that I'm a lot smarter now than I was when I was 30. I started my first business at 32 and I made a lot of mistakes. I started this restaurant at 61 and my mistakes have been minimal, including deciding to open a restaurant while a dementia patient was running the country.

I THINK U WILL FIND THAT THIS GENERATION OF WORKERS WILL NOT ACCEPT 70 HOURS WORK WEEKS.,WILL NOT DEDICATE THEIR SOUL TO THE EMPLOYEE AND IN A QUITE OPPOSITE FASHION.... EXPECT, NO DEMAND THAT THEIR LIFE BE MORE BALANCED AND SEIZE THAT CONCEPT WITH GREAT VIGOR.....MEANING THE PRESENT BUSINESS/EMPLOYER HAS A FAIR AMOUNT OF TURN OVER, IF THEY DON'T ADHERE TO THE NEW GEN'S CONCEPT....OF LIFE BALANCE....THEY SAW THEIR PARENTS LOYALTY TO THE JOB DID NOTHING AND LEFT THEM DEPLETED.....SO THE EQUATION HAS DONE A 180.

There will be those outliers who are willing to work those 70 hour weeks and they will succeed.

Those who don’t? AI will replace them. AI doesn't need long vacations or to skip a day so they can attend their child's first day of school. AI works on weekends.

Who are you more likely to keep on for your small business? The employee who works long hours and doesn't complain or the one who takes off Wednesday afternoon to watch his kid's soccer practice?

HA, I don't think you are factoring in the new economy that's coming. It's one with less regulations, more outside investors coming in with their trillions, lower taxes, and just an overall more friendly government to businesses that create jobs. Now I realize you will come back with the worn out talking points about how just the rich will get richer, which they will, but you will fail to believe all boats will rise, which they will.

Your gloom and doom mentality is part of the reason your party lost... your chosen leaders never give you answers to problems, they only push you to hate Trump and they make promises of outcomes that never materialize.

I'm going to take your advice on most things and "wait and watch". Big changes are coming and many are already here.

A MULTI LEVEL CORP IS A DIFFERENT ANIMAL ....HAVING WORKED FOR ONE I KNOW HOW IT ROLLS.

If you're being honest, you know how ONE corporation rolls. Corporations are all different, just like people. They are not all bad, despite what Bernie tells you.
