Will this help to lower Healthcare costs around the world?

I am skeptical that new weight loss drugs will do much at all to the cost of healthcare. Sure having less over weight people could reduce those peoples needs of more health care. I just don't have much faith in modern "new" medicine as it is always many years after the use of drugs before the drug companies are held accountable for the unknown damages that are caused from their use.
