Tea Party ‘founder’: Palin, Gingrich a ‘joke’

21 Oct 2010 09:14 #1 by Wayne Harrison

A financial blogger and ex-CEO credited with being one of the original "founders" of the Tea Party has come out against the movement, saying it has been hijacked by the very people it was protesting and is now obsessed with "guns, gays and God."

In a "message" to the Tea Party Wednesday, Karl Denninger declared that he "ought to sue" anyone who uses the Tea Party name "for defamation."

"Yeah, that's a joke," he writes. "But so are you. All of you. Especially Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Bob Barr, and douchebag groups such as the 'Tea Party Patriots.'"

Denninger writes: "Tea Party my ass. This was nothing other than the Republican Party stealing the anger of a population that was fed up with the Republican Party's own theft of their tax money at gunpoint to bail out the robbers of Wall Street and fraudulently redirecting it back toward electing the very people who stole all the ****ing money!"

Here's his blog post called "To The Tea Party: Go Screw Yourself":

Let's look at their mission statement:

* Fiscal Responsibility
* Constitutionally Limited Government
* Free Markets

Really? That sounds pretty good. But did you read "Free Markets"?

Free Markets: A free market is the economic consequence of personal liberty. The founders believed that personal and economic freedom were indivisible, as do we. Our current government's interference distorts the free market and inhibits the pursuit of individual and economic liberty. Therefore, we support a return to the free market principles on which this nation was founded and oppose government intervention into the operations of private business.

Oh, oppose government intervention eh? You mean, you oppose stringing up the people who break the law and steal people's homes and wealth? Private business is only private up until it rips someone off.

Notice what's missing from this mission statement and principles: Any mention of why I and others led people to mail tea bags to Congress and our President in the first place: rampant theft of over taxpayer money propping up FAILED private businesses.

Pineguy,
Please don't ever forget that Jenny Beth Martin, co-head of the Tea Party Patriots, received a $510,000 tax bailout. Biggest. lying. hypocrite. ever.

Wherever there are people, there is sin. And wherever there are politicians, you will find self-serving, corrupt people.

That said, why the big hang-up on the “Tea Party” anyway? Set aside the top level administrative elements for a minute just for the sake of discussion and understand that what remains are Americans who are tired of the political status quo—locally, statewide and nationally—and who desire a return to the morals, values and principles upon which this country was founded.

These people don’t ask, “What can the government do for me?” They ask, “What can I do to make our community, our state and our country a better place to live?”

Every one of us can scour the news sites all day long and find stories of corruption, greed and evil originating in every known political party. What’s the point of that?

As we near a critical election in the country’s history, why not spend your idle time praying for your fellow Americans and your country; or for those with no religious beliefs, sit back and meditate as to how you can be a better citizen…how you can give of your time and talents to make our community a better place for all.

That is the real danger of the TEA Party. Will a bunch of political novices be corrupted or fooled into supporting the Republicrat party?

When Obama & Geithner paid off Wall Street instead of jailing/firing, I started to lose faith. And I doubt the TEA Party minority elected will be able to stop the earmarks and lettermarks that are tradition.

Maybe we won't but at least we are trying to do something rather than just sitting around and complaining about everything.

If we hadn't formed this 285Tea Party Group, I am sure we would have formed a different named group doing the exact same thing as we are doing now, attempting to get average every day Americans involved in bringing this country back into the hands of the people instead of the Socialist Marxist Extreme Left majority or the equally guilty Right Elite.

We may have named it almost anything, but whatever we named it, people would have attacked us because they have nothing else to do, or they are just of the left, whatever, makes no difference to us. Seems like, if you aren't with us, you are against us, nothing new.

Start taking us seriously, we are not a joke.

Sorry to say, but when this is what most people consider the public face of the Tea Party

people really won't take you seriously.

BTW - I noticed the High Timber Times stated that the Tank worship meeting was sponsored by the Green Party? What's up with that? Is it a misprint or am I hallucinating again?

Denninger's description of what he would have the Tea Party support is something I would get behind 100%!

The Tea Party was initiated as a political protest against the unlawful and in fact unconstitutional usurpation of power from the Congress and The People in the form of extortion-led bailouts of enterprises that had engaged in acts that I, and many others, believe were at least civilly actionable and in many cases crossed the line into criminal activity. In short, The Tea Party was and is about the the corruption of American Politics and the blatant and outrageous theft from all Americans that has resulted. It is about personal responsibility and enforcement of the law against those who have robbed, financially ****d and pillaged the nation.

Yet today we hear literally nothing about these issues among the so-called "Tea Party" candidates and their backers. ...look at what's over at TeaParty.Org: you'll find the usual pablum. Guns, gays, God. Let's talk about all of them within the context of The Constitution, which is what the Tea Party was supposed to be about. In short:
* Guns. What part of "shall not be infringed" didn't you bother to read?
* Gays. What part of "what you do in your bedroom is none of my damn business" didn't you bother with?
* God. What part of the Establishment Clause didn't you bother to read? "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"[/i].
Yet today we hear literally nothing about these issues among the so-called "Tea Party" candidates and their backers. Sarah Palin has not said one word about locking up the banksters that brought up on the housing bubble and economic collapse. Not one word about Bernanke's out-of-control Fed and the arguably unlawful monetization of Fannie and Freddie paper, not to mention the monetization of the Federal Debt.

Instead we have this:

Climate Change Doubt Is Tea Party Article of Faith
By JOHN M. BRODER
Published: October 20, 2010

Those who support the Tea Party movement are considerably more dubious about the existence and effects of global warming than the American public at large, according to a New York Times/CBS News Poll conducted this month. The survey found that only 14 percent of Tea Party supporters said that global warming is an environmental problem that is having an effect now, while 49 percent of the rest of the public believes that it is. More than half of Tea Party supporters said that global warming would have no serious effect at any time in the future, while only 15 percent of other Americans share that view, the poll found.

And 8 percent of Tea Party adherents volunteered that they did not believe global warming exists at all, while only 1 percent of other respondents agreed. Those views in general align with those of the fossil fuel industries, which have for decades waged a concerted campaign to raise doubts about the science of global warming and to undermine policies devised to address it.
Skepticism and outright denial of global warming are among the articles of faith of the Tea Party movement, here in Indiana and across the country. For some, it is a matter of religious conviction; for others, it is driven by distrust of those they call the elites. And for others still, efforts to address climate change are seen as a conspiracy to impose world government and a sweeping redistribution of wealth.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

"Minutemen" was already taken and "Sons of Liberty" sounded gender exclusive? Personally, I would have been proud to serve either of those two groups and I'm proud of the people who devote their time and talents to the 285 Corridor Tea Party Group.

Scruffy:

Whatever happened to the party of tolerance? It seemed to go by the wayside when women who weren't part of the Left came out. You can belittle O'Donnell or Palin if you like, doesn't mean that everyone feels the same way by any means, especially Palin.

I, personally don't support either one, so your taunts about them only show your bias and ignorance. I'm sure you would back LJ for office.

I would back LaddyJazzer for public office. She has an ability to see through bullsh** and spin that is lacking in many citizens.

I'm glad you don't support Palin or O'Donnell, but my point was that when most people think of the Tea Party, their images come to mind. That's the face of the party, whether you like it or not.

I'm not belittling O'Donnell and Palin. They do that quite well without me. O'Donnell is batsh** insane, with her masturbation, evolution and wiccan rants. Every time she opens her mouth, she proves that she is unstable and would be dangerous in office. Palin has shown that she is all about attention and money. If she runs for high office, I seriously doubt that she would have the best interests of the country in mind.
