I wouldn't vote for Maes on a bet, but I must say I think it's pretty shoddy the way the Republican party is treating their duly-chosen candidate! Makes you realize how much the rank and file membership of the party actually means to the overlords!

Both Maes and Allard became unelectable with their scandals, but Maes chose to stay even though it hurts the Republican Party and conservatives in general.

True he was "the duly chosen candidate" but it's not unlike the traditional ponzi scheme where everything looks great until the house of cards falls. It’s really nobody’s fault, the party big wigs really didn’t want him, the rank and file at the caucuses, and the state assembly pushed him up the ladder.
