I wouldn't vote for Maes on a bet, but I must say I think it's pretty shoddy the way the Republican party is treating their duly-chosen candidate! Makes you realize how much the rank and file membership of the party actually means to the overlords!
Frank Zappa had it right all along: "They just look out for number one, and number one ain't you: you ain't even number two!" LOLOL!!!!
Both Maes and Allard became unelectable with their scandals, but Maes chose to stay even though it hurts the Republican Party and conservatives in general.
I met McInnis 'way back when. I was part of a very small lobbying effort at the time. As soon as he walked into the office my brain started sending Weasel Alerts...

Weasel Alerts I love that. I wish my weasel alert had caught on to Maes before I supported him.

True he was "the duly chosen candidate" but it's not unlike the traditional ponzi scheme where everything looks great until the house of cards falls. It’s really nobody’s fault, the party big wigs really didn’t want him, the rank and file at the caucuses, and the state assembly pushed him up the ladder.
