If you don't understand Stewart's or Colbert's humor, just say so. No shame in that.
I understand the humor. Why do you deny that they wag the audience with comedy?
So was the "Restore Sanity" a political rally or comedy show?
Don't you think it was a little of both? Partly, it was a reaction to the extremist Beck show a few weeks earlier. This rally in DC today was billed (primarily) as a reasonable march for reasonable people, as opposed to the Beck rally "To Restore Honor" (whatever the hell that meant for Glenn.)
The Beck rally was all posturing to massage Becks ego, by a bunch of super-duper patriots that hate Obama and "want to take back America" - again, whatever the hell that means and who they intend to take it back from - and if they had ever owned it in the first place. Talk about elitist!
Todays rally was a parody of that, as well as an opportunity for normal, reasonable Americans to make their presence heard to politicians.
It was billed as not a political event by the organizers but that is all it was, and attended by thousands, according to the the report I just read. By the way the trash pickup will be just like the one at Colbert's previous rally.
A desperate attempt to rally the Democratic vote. The pics I saw looked like it was filled with stoners!!! Not necessarily voters.
Restore sanity should be the call to arms of the Conservatives, in my opinion. Anyone who can claim that the last almost 2 years has been sane drinks too much of the Koolaid!! :bash :bash
