A man throwing rocks at cars on U.S. 285 early this afternoon was taken into custody, but only after a couple of vehicles were hit by the missiles and a deputy sheriff was injured trying to subdue the man.
Mark Techmeyer, spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, said the incident began about 1:40 p.m. when an off-duty sergeant for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office saw the man throwing rocks at cars as they traveled along U.S. 285 near Shaffers Crossing.
