No, that was Christine O'Donnell that you saw riding the broom into the sunset.
Pelosi has the advantage of being unbeatable in her district. She won with over 80% of the vote. That's a good thing for the leadership of a party in Congress - look at Daschle or Foley. They lost and took their party down with them. It looks really bad when the Speaker loses.

Normally you would think having a hard left Speaker would hurt the chances of Dem legislation passing, but Pelosi was able to pass Cap n' Trade & even Obamacare. It was Reid and the Senate who couldn't finish the job on C&T or giving the goverment option in healthcare.
