Question....Dems Priorities?

01 Dec 2010 09:43 #1 by The Viking
Why did the Dems take the jobless benefits discussion and bill off the table when almost 2 million will lose their benefits today and Jan 1st? And they still haven't passed a balanced budget which is way past due. And instead they are focusing on and fighting for a food regulation bill and getting 'Don't ask, Don't tell' repealed. Where are their priorities? I thought this administration was about helping employment and balancing a budget?

So you're saying that you support extending the unemployment benefits, or are you just trolling again? Seems to me that 99 weeks has been enough, but I'm not among the unemployed.

The Republicans previously announced their plans to filibuster the unemployment benefits until the very wealthy got their tax breaks at a cost of $700 billion to the deficit. The food safety legislation passed yesterday with bipartisan support. The 42 Republican Senators announced that they will block any Democrat legislation until the very wealthy get their tax breaks at a cost of $700 billion to the deficit. So the question is why do the Republicans deny unemployment benefits to those most at risk, deny tax breaks to the middle class while insisting on adding to $700 billion to the deficit to give tax breaks to those who will not be using that money to spur the economy? So what are the Republican priorities other than being a tool for the wealthiest 2 percent?

Yep, keep hanging onto that one for as long as you can. Pure BS.

Wealthy people spend money on goods and services here in the USA. Anyone who would claim that a sizeable chunk of their income is sent oversees or otherwise hidden offshore is just plain full of it.

And do you believe the wealthy 2% were just sitting on their sofas watching Oprah or The View (like you probably do) and somehow their wealth just dropped onto their lap? No! They worked their butts off for what they have AND IT'S THEIRS! Not yours. Not the governments.

This drive to convert America to socialism has got to end.

This drive to convert America to a two class, rich/poor, society has got to end.

It seems to me the Democrats want to keep spending money (such as for 99+ weeks unemployment benefits) without funding it.

The Republicans want to keep a tax cut for the wealthiest 2% without cutting spending to make up for it.

The net effect is the same... borrowing money and raising the deficit.

Then I suggest the lazy majority with their hands extended for that welfare or unemployment check better get off their asses and prop up the middle class.

Do you really think that the majority of Americans are lazy and on unemployment?
