Then I suggest the lazy majority with their hands extended for that welfare or unemployment check better get off their asses and prop up the middle class.
Do you really think that the majority of Americans are lazy and on unemployment?
Nope, but I am betting 30-40% currently on unemployment have given up. Losing benefits will get them motivated again. The threat of losing benefits might get them moving to states with better economies.

I wonder if you are right. When you are on unemployment, you still need to be searching for a job. You need to make a certain number of contacts per week, and they all have to be unique. I doubt that people are just sitting on their couch watching Oprah instead of trying to find a job.
Also, remember that unemployment is only a certain percentage of your last job salary. If I remember correctly, it's something like 60%? That's kind of hard to live on if you were making a slim margin before. The reduced salary should be sufficient enough motivation to try harder to get a job at your previous pay.
I think there's also a top set on the amount that can be distributed, i.e., somebody that made $10k a week will not get $6k a week unemployment, they will get significantly less.
The meme that "unemployment is better than working" is not true in almost all cases. There will no doubt be bad apples that are working the system, but I'll bet they are the exception rather than the rule.
It's a lot harder to get a job - any job - right now than since the Great Depression. That's why people are still on unemployment.

Why is that Scruffy? Is it even remotely possible in your mind that it might have something to do with the stupid policies and agenda of the Democratic party and your high and mighty Obama?
Just maybe you might see the swath of destruction of industries and Rights of his agenda, or am I expecting too much from your porn filled brain??
It's harder to get a job because the Republicans made it more profitable to move all our jobs offshore. Come on guys, grow a set already and take responsibility for what you have done. Trickle down economics has wrecked our country. Corporate profits are at an all time high. Giving the wealthy more tax cuts won't produce more jobs. We gave them the damned tax cuts and their response was to ship even more jobs offshore. You fools seems to think that if you keep giving the rich stuff they'll give it back. Well they won't. If you keep giving them our countrys wealth they'll just buy another jet so they can visit their operations in China. Get a clue.

It might. it might also have something to do with policies that have been in place longer than the 20+ months that the Dems have been in control of the country. Not everything is right/left, you know?

No, I don't see it that way. It's our problem, as Americans. It's what has happened and the question is how do we get out of it now.

Unions have outlived their purpose and are the root cause for much, if not most, of the offshore sourcing. You'll never convince me that a person with no high school diploma or skills to speak of should be paid $35/hour plus benefits to fasten bolts on parts going down an assembly line. The unions drove up the cost of labor and eventually screwed themselves and thier members.
