The point being made is big picture. Way too many people believe America will always exist as an independent nation, simply because it always has...for as long as we've been alive. However, we are very quickly becoming outnumbered on this planet and if we stay on the recent track of weakening ourselves from within, it won't take much for those who hate us to decide they're gonna challenge us on our own soil. The non-military challenges are already happening and we're looking pretty vulnerable to the rest of the world.

Don't bother feeling sorry for me......we see our future differently.....you think that makes you right and me wrong. I know that America cannot stagnate, nor will it grow and prosper when the right wing forces keep wanting to take us backwards rather than forwards. This is a far different world now then even 20, 30 years ago and we must adapt to it if we are to keep moving forward. All I hear on the right is go back, go back.....well sorry, but going back is not an option. Once the pandora's box of progress has been opened you don't get to close it and pretend that we can become 1980's America again.

How many Germans do you think ever contemplated that millions of their own people would be carted off in trains to be exterminated? How many do you think ever even contemplated that as a possibility? I'm sure those who voiced their concern or raised the possibility received the same ignorant responses that you have provided here.

Interesting you should post this since it is the conservatives that will bring us to the brink of turning on our own citizens not liberals. And for what? To make the rich richer....to give our money to corporations and banks.....to keep the little people from ever achieving the American dream. You may not march them off to camps, nope, you would let them die in the streets from lack of health care, lack of meaninful employment, and lack of compassion for those less fortunate.

Very apt anology, the conservatives are sitting in judgement over much of America and find them wanting....they are not like them, they are different.....they are poor, gay, atheist, jewish, muslim, black, or hispanic....not of the favored white christian race. Why not just be truthful and say straight out.....you don't want these people here.

You vocalize the concern that liberals have with conservatives JS. Your fear of 'others' is what has the potential to lead us to the scenario you fear. I can think of no liberal that points to any group and says "They are destroying us." Liberals know that it is the disparate groups that make up the diverse and unique whole that is America. Yes, that includes fearful conservatives.

Is 'fear' your word of the day? You believe I am afraid? Personally, I fear no one. But I will readily admit that I fear this country as I have known it and lived in will not resemble the world that you and your like are trying to create. I fear my kids won't enjoy the same freedoms and opportunities that I did because people like you and politicians like Barack Obama are hellbent on 'fundamentaly transforming' this country into a socialist, weak, lazy place where effort and talent and hard work are no longer rewarded. I'm prepared to fight to the death to defend America against enemies inside or outside our borders. Pissants like you don't scare me. You'll be the first to run to mama peeing down your leg when the enemy shows up. Just be sure to get the hell out of the way quickly so those of us who are willing to defend the Constitution and American values can do what needs to be done.
