I'm sure then that you are posting from the front lines in Afghanistan. May I thank you for your service?

Then you haven't served? My bad. The way you were talking- never mind. Yeah- you talk tough, but it all comes down to what you fear. I have high hopes for our country. I believe we could be world leaders in the new, green economy. There are clean, efficient power sources out there waiting to be exploited- I think Americans can take their place at the head of the development of these sources. Information is an untapped resource, if we don't let our fear of terrorism cap it off we can have the most educated workforce in history. We are on the cusp of a revolution that will make the industrial revolution look minor. The question is; are we too afraid to seize it?

Do you have a meth problem ckm8? You don't quite seem capable of focusing on an issue, or for logical, rational thought. But, I'll play along a bit...

I don't disagree, but guess what? It'll take some entrepreneurs with initiative and incentive to make it happen. Where are you going to find people willing to invest their time and money if they know the government will steal half their resultant income to give away to lazy bastards who aren't willing to work?

No, I believe it's been tapped very well. Ask the wealthy founders of Microsoft, Facebook, YouTube, IBM, etc., etc.

Well, not as long as teacher's unions continue to protect incompetent teachers while funding campaigns for leftist politicians who want to destroy capitalism.

Half? Not hardly. Obviously you understand the tax code less than the Constitution.

Facebook and YouTube are not the kind of "information" I'm talking about, but I totally understand why you'd think so.

It's not teachers unions that are the problem- it's an educational system that tries to do everything on the cheap down at the level where the kids are while becoming administratively top heavy. Perhaps if we copied the Danish system where the best and brightest were offered scholarships if they became teachers. If we valued teachers and education the way we do coaches and sports. Maybe if "elite" hadn't become a dirty word. When we disdain the best in preference of the common we end up with- well- Sarah Palin.

But that was the future to be seized. You must be too young to appreciated the reference.
