Action required! Call first thing Thursday AM !!

The House tonight passed the DREAM Act amnesty by a 216-198 margin. The Senate will resume consideration of the bill on Thursday morning (12/9), as early as 9:30 a.m. We need your IMMEDIATE ACTION! Please call the Senate at 202-224-3121 and urge a NO on the DREAM Act.

The DREAM Act directly rewards the parents for their illegal acts: their children get legal status
AND receive taxpayer-funded assistance. Moreover as soon as amnesty beneficiaries turn 21 (if
they are not already), they may petition for their family members to get green cards. It is a
backdoor amnesty for the illegal alien parents.

ยท The DREAM Act does nothing to fix our broken immigration system. It does not secure the
border, stop visa overstays, aid the courts, reduce fraud, hold employers accountable, provide
tools for law enforcement agencies, or do anything stop illegal immigration. The DREAM Act
will only encourage more illegal immigration. The 1986 amnesty taught us this lesson.

I doubt my calls will sway Bennet nor Udall.

Isn't this the act that awards citizenship for fighting in our military? I think that deserves citizenship personally.

Beneficiaries of the DREAM act cannot sponsor relatives until after they become U.S. citizens, which is at least 13 years after gaining legal status. Additionally, if their parents were in the United States illegally they would be required to leave the United States for 10 years before becoming eligible for sponsorship. Do a little reading and stop taking Fox News' word for everything.

I like this part of the act but giving illegal aliens a cheaper tuition rate than other Americans is wrong.

It doesn't. Another falsehood spread courtesy of Fox.

Do you really think they care what someone who isn't in their state thinks? They represent the voters in their state -- not people in Colorado.

Illegal aliens living in Colorado would get to pay in-state tuition rates wheras an American citizen from Kansas going to CU would pay many times over that rate.

BTW, NPR says the DREAM act will not get through the Senate, more filibuster action.

Maybe recraft the bill next session to only include the military path to citizenship?
