Tough to conceal those.

Do you need a permit for unconcealed weapons?

Isn't it legal to carry a weapon if it's not concealed, like in an outside holster?

It is legal to carry openly in most jurisdictions but it does take away the element of surprise and some police will hassle you plus you will also scare the sheeple.

Here is the Colorado laws on this......

Private Vehicles
You can legally carry firearms in a personal vehicle if used for hunting or the lawful protection of yourself or your property, or another person or his property. Rifles and shotguns must be unloaded while in your vehicle. You may transport a loaded or unloaded pistol or revolver in a private passenger vehicle although you must be at least 18 years old to possess a handgun.

Concealed Weapons
You may not transport a concealed weapon on your person. Colorado residents may obtain a Concealed Weapons Permit from their local sheriff's department. Current and retired law enforcement officers are exempt from state and local laws prohibiting concealed firearms.

National Forest and National Parks
You may carry firearms in Colorado's National Forest lands. You must dismantle weapons completely and transport them in the trunk of your vehicle while traveling in National Parks.

That didn't help much. It didn't cover just walking around with a handgun straped to your side -- say while walking in a National Forest. It only covered vehicles and National Parks.

There are not that many many National Parks in Chicago if I remember right. I don't think alot of the criminals in Chicago, or the people that live in high crime areas there take the time to read up on local gun ordinanaces. If you own a gun in the city of Chicago, you just don't get it registered and you keep it to yourself and maybe your good neighbor, because you know he has one too. You also know that the cops may not be willing to come to your door at night. The gun laws in Chicago are pretty bass ackwards for sure. You need to break the law to protect yourself. Unfortunately, when these families have their home broke into and their guns stolen, they don't report them as such, so there are more guns on the streets in the hands of real criminals.

Where do you think the majority of the illegal guns on the streets come from?

Guns are illegal in Mexico you know. How do you think that is working out for them? The gangs and criminals get them anywhere and they even control the police departments in some cities. They have some of the highest murder rates in the world, and guns are not allowed to be carried by citizens. Gun control doesn't work! It has the opposite desired effect. The only gun control that works is called good aim.

A lot from us. But they also come in through many ports. If it wasn't for the US, they would get them somewhere else. It is a huge industry.
