Actually reminds me more of the unofficial Christmas trench truce in 1914 where German & British soldiers exchanged gifts and played soccer. Thinking it was bad for morale, the British generals eventually ordered an artillery strike onto the German trenches.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
I'll pass on the truce. Many of the liberals offering "olive branches" purposefully, knowingly, and disrespectfully make hateful comments against conservatives and Christians on this and other boards. When the conservatives or Christians seemingly pounce on the libtards they cry "uncle" or in the case of the one, whine (to the moddies). I would be up to having a civil debate assuming that opposite posts doesn't character assassinate, name call, or insults.
I would spend the time to find examples of how the liberals have created this mean world, but I have better things to do today, like hug my wife and children, donate some toys, call and encourage friends who are down as they are losing their home and are bankrupt because they can't find a job, call my 88 year old grandmother and wish her a happy birthday, be thankful that I have some money to purchase some gifts for the family later today, and most importantly, enjoy the special time of the year because Jesus is the reason for the season.
If you truly believe that a START treaty, the suspension of the DADT, and negotiating a 13 month extension of unemployment makes bright future for Americans, you are out of touch. This liberal socialist democrat government is out of touch with it's own citizenry and that the only thing it can do to feel good about itself is to sell out to fringe groups and foreign governments. When the President says we need a 13 month extension of unemployment, that brings absolutely no hope to the Americans who have or are near the exhausting of benefits, it simply says, more of the same to come. Here's another pill to take to make a little of the pain away, but don't worry those illegals with jobs are doing o.k. They pay no taxes and enjoy the benefits of health care in the event of an emergency, put thanks for paying in all those years. The social security break is exactly that, a break. We will need to pay it back and it's going to far more expensive than what we didn't have to pay in. Again, we are borrowing.
