Obama Hasn't Increased Taxes, another liberal lie

23 Dec 2010 14:52 #1 by FredHayek
One of the questions that supposedly tripped up fox News viewers is that Obama hasn't raised taxes, but actually he has.
Obamacare is going after the cadillac health insurance plans by calling it a taxable benefit, also company benefits like company cell phones and company internet home access are also being taxed. Sounds like an increase to me and less take home pay for the workers out there.

So under Obama, your medical insurance benefits will be decreased, taxed, and your premiums will increase. Once again penalizing the working class. "But he said no tax increases for those who earn under 250K a year" :bash

Ooopsie:

Q. Will the new tax on health insurance plans apply to self-employed individuals? R.B., Marietta, Ga.

A. No. There’s a lot of confusion over this new health law provision. Actually, the 40% excise tax on “Cadillac” health insurance plans is levied against health insurers, not individuals.

It applies if the annual premiums for a health insurance plan exceeds $10,200 for individual coverage or $27,500 for family coverage. But you can expect insurance companies to raise the premiums as a result of this new tax.

So, show me where on the 1040 is this new federal tax on individuals? (Oh, the insurance companies will want to raise premiums?...You can hear the surprise in *MY* voice...) Funny, I don't see how this is a violation of the pledge for the government not to raise taxes on those earning under $250K...

Have you got a source for this alleged "new" "company cell phone" tax? Funny, but I find where states, counties and local governments are looking for revenue sources to help balance their budgets, but I don't find any NEW federal taxes on this. The rules that are being reviewed are already on the books from 1989... So, what is the source for this outrage-of-the-day?

Oh, I forgot the obligatory: :bash :bash :bash :bash and: :Koolaid: rofllol :Koolaid: rofllol

LJ, your own source admits there will be less take home pay for people earning under 250,000. Just like in Colorado where fees equal taxes, raising taxes on corporations do hurt working families.

There may be, but that will be the result of STATES & LOCAL businesses trying to balance their budgets...Quit trying to blame every tax-increase on the federal government and Obama. That's b.s.

So the Democrat controlled Congress that passed the bill, the President that signed it into law AREN'T responsible for the increases? I think I've got it now, when the left causes anything negative, its just unintended consequences, not that they are trying to undermine our nation.
Yeah, right.

The silent majority will be silent no more.
