liberal fantasy and a conservative freakout

"The fantasy was the idea that Barack Obama, a one-term senator with an appealing biography and a silver tongue, would turn out to be Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Robert F. Kennedy and Mahatma Gandhi all rolled into one. This fantasy inspired a wave of 1960s-style enthusiasm, an unsettling personality cult (that "Yes We Can" video full of harmonizing celebrities only gets creepier in hindsight) and a lot of over-the-top promises from Obama himself. It persuaded Democrats that the laws of politics had been suspended, and that every legislative goal they'd ever dreamed about was now within reach. It was even powerful enough to win President Obama a Nobel Peace Prize, just for being his amazing self."

They indulged, in other words, in the kind of easy, profligate “moderation” that’s done as much damage to the country over the years as the ideologies of either left or right. quote]

and i hope they undo a pile of crap when january comes.

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government." Thomas Jefferson

Not sure how this article was allowed to be printed in the NY Times rag, times they are a changin.

It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers−out of unorthodoxy

Another step closer to the ultimate police state. Click your heels together, throw a commie salute and say "for the motherland" or "for the party."

The silent majority will be silent no more.

Sorry, I prefer not to act like a conservative, keep the "for the party" stuff to your side. We are well aware that what is good for the Republican party or the Tea Party is far more important to conservatives then what is good for the nation.

Talking to most of the older generation they seem to be appauled and ashamed at what we have become as a country.

The democrats and some reublicans have so wanted to be saved that they believe anything and defend these awful mistakes to the end. Spineless wussies.
Sadly those that cannot see or comprehend that we are in deep poo poo may pay the ultimate price in the end. But will go down saying it was the past faults and not the current ones that did it.

My apologies, I thought you were responding to mtntrekker...posting from a cell phone has its challenges.
I still don't want to go to hell.
