Examples of Non-Partisan Issues?

Do you know of any issues that aren't right/left divisive?
One of the few I can think of is pornography, it seems like the religious right and the feminist left think it should be banned and most of the people in the middle are willing to live with it.

Legalized drugs might also be included. Libertarian righties want it along with leftist hippie types. The center seems to like current drug laws.

I just read an op-ed that a redo of "no child left behind" could be non-partisan.

I can't find it now, but I recently read a science news article saying that in areas where there was greater access to porn, sexual assault rates were lower than in areas where there's less access to porn. The authors had no explanation for this observation, just mentioned that it was antithetical and curious (as sexual assault isn't supposed to be about sexual release but about power over another, maybe that assumption needs to be re-examined as it might not apply in all cases), and more research would be needed to understand why. Those that want it banned should consider history - prohibition was a colossal failure - people do not give up their vices involuntarily.

I do not believe that encouraging young children to read is divisive to the left or the right.

Nor do I believe that eating vegetables is good for a body is divisive. Notice, I didn't say which vegetables...that IS divisive.

Specific vegetables can be divisive?! Hmmm, do conservatives only get the red ones and liberals get the rest or is there some other way to divide them? Suggestions?

Well...since leafy greens provide more bulk for the body, those are good for the conservatives to regulate their systems and loosen them up a bit...or maybe they'd be better for the liberals to make them less loose. I believe corn is good for all of them because it isn't easily digested and a lot of times comes out the way it goes in.

I'm OK with giving the conservatives the red ones...are there many blue vegetables?

What I was actually thinking about vegetables being divisive is that a lot of people are finicky when it comes to eating their vegetables. And trying to tell someone that spinach or brussels sprouts are good for them just doesn't fly.

I know, I was just trying to have some fun!

There aren't any truly blue vegetables, just blue fruits. There are purple ones though, like eggplant, peppers, potatoes, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, and asparagus. (I haven't had purple carrots or asparagus yet, but blue/purple potatoes are especially TASTY and more packed with goodness than white potatoes, especially for those with diabetes) http://www.specialtyproduce.com/index.php?item=641

For everyone to maintain optimal health, they should have an equal amount of all colors as each has differing amounts of vitamin, minerals, antioxidants, and other nutrients. Fresh vegetables and fruits also help the body deal with stress, something any good conservative or liberal needs!

Cilantro is a good non-partisan issue. I think it is overused and tastes like soap. There is even a hate cilantro website.
