He talked about it during the State of the Union address. Now he needs to drum up support for it. Bottom line is that it's not likely to pass...But it's a noble idea.

Oh yes, another great idea of the great leader Obama....tax the heck out of all the citizenry to provide some farmer brown high speed internet. Provide subsidiaries for cell phone companies and provide more tower rent of the owners of those towers...by the way, who owes most of the towers? Wow, it's an ingenious scheme to bilk billions out of consumers and provide tower rental income to cell phone companies. Nice job O!

So remember this when you see it on your internet bill:

High Speed Wireless FCC Fee $ 1.12 < remember it's NOT a tax it's a fee and O didn't increase your taxes...just your fees.
Rural Emergency Responders High Speed Wireless Access $ .54 < remember those rural volunteer fire department and sheriff department need access to WhiteHouse.gov and HomelandSecurity.gov 24/7 on their smart phones

Billions and billions of malinvestment.

Well, they have to start somewhere to try to recoup the 750,000/month that were being lost at the end of 2007 under Bush.

If we give the Democrats eight years and $ 2 Trillion, we would still have the same results.

They're talking about taking more of the spectrum used by television - right after they made television switch to digital at their own cost and change channels in most cases. I think we will see the end of over the air television soon as the government is getting HUGE dollars from the wireless providers in exchange for frequency. The FCC is already forcing an auction on any unused or low power spectrum in the television band.

....and Google and Verizon are winning those auctions...
