Wisconsin Senate Set to Vote on Anti-Union Bill

Wow, someone actively working to shrink government and get the heck out of the way of the economic engines - the businesses. That's good to see.

OK, I haven't been around the last couple days much and haven't read all of this so I don't know if it was covered or not, but I need to point out a couple things. The population of Wisconsin is about 5.7 MILLION people. 25000 is what the latest number is that is protesting and shutting down the schools. That is less than 1/2 of 1%. or .4% to bemore presice. So 99.6% of the state isn't out there protesting against this, and Obama sides with the Unions.

So many liberals on here kept saying when the Dems were in control of all the houses, that the Americans voted them in so they have the right to make and pass the laws that they want as they are the people the voters elected. Wisconsin voted in 19 Republicans and 14 Dems to the State Senate so that state and it's voters, want those 33 to vote and pass laws accordingly. If they dont they can vote them out next time right? That is what the Dems said for years whent he Dems were passing bills and bailouts that the majority of Americans didn't want right? Who ever is elected has the RIGHT to pass the bills they were voted in to pass. The state is facing a $175 million dollar shortfall and as the Dems always say, everyone has to make cuts and tough choices. Are you all just talk? The R's are finally making those tough choices where people have to make some sacrifices but they can all still more than survive. They just have to contribute a little more.

So 25,000 people is who Obama is going to stand behind instead of the 5.7 million, to make sure the state government stays shut down, kids aren't taught, the budget isn't balanced, responsible cuts can't be made, and all so he can back his precious Union voting block rather than looking out for the good of the state and the majority of it's people. Obama is by far the dumbest and most irresponsible President in History!

So should all of these Dems be in essense fired and have new elections? What other job in the nation can you just walk out on your job that is being paid for by hard working Americans, with their tax dollars, refuse to return, hang out at some resort in another state, and shut down the state government and the schools just because you want to prove a point, without any consequenses? Could any of you do that with your job? They work for us!!! Not the other way around! Most Libs don't get that!

So serioiusly, if you have a boss like the Governor of Wisc. who wants to do the will of the people and balance the budget, and he just needed a majority vote on it to pass, then if in your company, using the same scenario, if you said screw you I am not doing my job, and you gave him the finger and walked out him, and they essentually had to shut down the business while you were throwing a tantrum, and it caused the company to lose lots of money, would you have a job to go back to the next day? Why should they?

Anyone who said that health care reform was rushed needs to agree that the bargaining rights changes was rushed. Anyone who said it was not rushed should agree that this is not rushed.

Again, my personal bias in this issue is that I have 5 family members that are teachers (3 in WI). Now, here in CO, because of Hickenduper, my honey may be out of her pre-school job next year. I think the assault on teachers lately will come at great cost.

It is far from rushed. People have talked about this for years in most states and they all knew this agreement was expiring this year and that they were going to make changes. There is a story out there that says that anyone who didn't see this coming had blinders on. EVERYONE knew it was coming who paid any attention. This was no surprise to anyone in the Unions. They just hate personal responsibility! That is all these protests are about.

It is good to see fire and police unions standing with the other public unions, even though they will not be affected.

Still love for you to answer my question above. Would you be able to keep your job if you did this and should they be able to?

That explains a lot. You are just a victim of your environment.

They might regret that when the state's budget troubles continue and they have to start laying off firefighters and policemen.
