AspenValley and CG are absolutely correct. We should bypass policital slants concerning this major event. If you pause and consider you will most probably agree.
My daughter is in Japan and this causes me to really resent deflecting comments that serve no purpose at all. Presently I cannot think outside of my own concerns and am totally self absorbed. The links posted in threads concerning the aftermath of the earthquake are very informative and the infighting is very annoying. There are plenty of threads in which spleen may be vented.
She says that she is OK. (But you know how kids lie!) She is currently trying to exit the country.
I have tried to refrain from posting to these threads because it would add nothing to the information and separation of time will lessen my emotional involvement with the events.
We are able to endure because we know that our daughter makes very wise decisions in dangerous situations. She is level headed and very self reliant. After learning that she survived the tsunami our concerns turned to the nuclear reactors. We would really like to know that she has left the island. She is employed by the U.S. gov't and do not know if they can help her to leave.
I'm with you regarding your daughter. I infer from the way my own sons were brought up that they are very capable of making sound decisions. Given what I have read of your past posts, the same holds for your daughter. One simply needs to place faith into their decision making even in the light of traumatic events. No, it does not curtail worrying about them. After all, events unfold a certain way regardless of how sound the decision. Simply let us know when your daughter is on her outbound flight.
