Just a question....

Do those of you who can't seem to discuss anything, including a disaster of Biblical proportions in Japan, without throwing something along the lines of "That's what's wrong with you liberals, you worry about people in a disaster!" or "You conservatives! That's your problem, you don't care if everyone in Japan gets roasted by a multiple nuclear plant meltdown" actually talk like that in real life?

Because I seriously can't imagine what a drag it would be to go out to dinner with someone who started ranting about my politics every time I asked him or her to pass the salt. Or threw in some slur about my politics if the room was too hot or the steak was too cold.

Not everything is about politics, in fact the only thing that is about politics is politics. A disaster is a disaster, not an opportunity to sling stupid insults at each other. It makes some of you look seriously deranged when you do that.

Deranged - well yes - look at the above post.

Three topics that are always hot button - politics, religion and women (well sex)......goes with the territory. To politicize all topics is just basically stupid. This is the problem with Pine cam moderators - all topics seem there to lead to political opinion - and if not in sync with their politics you are not welcomed
yes stupid fits.

A natural disaster thread really should not be posted in a political section anyway unless there is actually something controversial about it. That being said, the thread about the nuclear reactors possibly melting down is a hot topic politically. As for the usual name calling and labelling, there are those who can't help themselves no matter how childish they look.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Jeez, they have already started trying to use this for political purposes. Disgusting.

A spending plan being pushed by Republicans would slash funding for the agency that warned Hawaii and the West Coast about the devastating tsunami in Japan.

According to the article itself, it says these cuts were proposed prior to this earthquake. I don't doubt there will be a huge amount of Politicizing though. It was predicted yesterday that someone will point out that since Japan is basically at the same Latitude as So. and North Dakota, the Greenies will say that the fracking for Oil and Gas done there was a contributing factor in this earthquake. Politicizing is pretty natural.

Between 1872 and 1991, at least 65 earthquakes have been recorded with epicenters in South Dakota (Hammond, 1992).

Nmysys, am I reading you right? Somebody thinks that drilling in the Dakotas may have caused an earthquake in Japan? Source please?

I really don't care.... It is not the content of the article, it is just that they are even starting finger pointing right now. This is not appropriate the day after there is so much human suffering. Excuse my language but even bringing this up right now is sick. They need to shut the **** up then start the fight again later. Using a horrible tragedy in the fight is something I can't stomach. I saw this at Katrina and it almost broke me. You have no idea how much this pisses me off.
