Just wondering why we don't see panic, looting, blaming, hysteria in Japan like we did in New Orleans during and after Katrina? I have a lot of new respect for the Japanese people....with all they have been through, it seems like they have much stronger character than many Americans during tough times. Another reason why I think more of us want to have some guns around if and when we face desperate times.....not to commit crimes, but to defend against the crazies.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

There is also not much to loot in the hardest hit areas. They are all pulling together very well considering the situation. They may start to grumble a bit soon if they do not begin to get accurate info on the nuke issue or when services really start to lag.
I agree with the above, but I think it also has to do with the attitude of 'entitlement'. We (Americans in general) think that we are entitled to have everything rosy, and if it isn't, it is up to the government to fix it, Right Now!

it's more than that jf1....there are those who feel entitled to have everything given to them.....then there are those who think if you are not just like them you are not entitled to anything. The entitlement generation has both, and both are equally a problem.

You see the same type of character displayed in North Dakota in floods, in the foothills of Colorado during wildfires, ....you don't see it in urban areas...because the libtards run the education system, run the government, run the entitlement programs.... and etc.
Japanese has their faults too...but they don't have liberals trying to educate their kids to become homosexuals...they educate them to beat the snot out of other countries....

Well it can't be the first one...I have worked hard for everything I've got....if it were the second one I would have to admit to being a conservative....talk about a dilemma.
NPR had a story about the Japan/Chinese friction but some of the Chinese people were quite impressed with how well the Japanese people are reacting in this earthquake disaster. The Chinese said their people weren't nearly as well behaved after their earthquake. Japan sent troops to help rescue buried survivors, first Japanese troops in mainland China since WWII.
Don't want to toot my own horn, but I think the 285 corridor handles disasters from fire to flood to snow very well. But someone once said, 90% of people handle disaster pretty well, it is the 10% who whine and commit crimes that make the news.
