This oil spill is no different than the Big one a few months ago that was made into such a big deal by you and the rest of the Left, the media, the Administration, Salazar, etc. Until this little incident came along for LJ and you to complain about, there was hardly a trace from the Ecological Disaster that was turned into a daily dosage by the media so Obama could extort Billions from BP. The real Ecological disaster is in Japan, not this!!! But using LJ's own words, this the Leftists Outrage of the Day to take eyes off the Obama Doctrine!!!!
I wasn't aware we were talking about Japan either......once again this thread was about the new spill in the gulf.....are you OK with it? Do you have any concerns about it? If you insist on bringing up other topics to compare this to, go up to Alaska and see how much damage is still evident from the Valdez spill.....
I find it very demeaning to the people of the gulf to claim that because this isn't as big a disaster as Japan they should just suck it up. Of course it isn't your livelihood that is being threatened again....so what do you care? I still hope someone from the right will actually want to discuss what we should, or should not, be doing about the seemingly lax safety standards of the oil companies that are operating in the gulf. If more oversight and/or regulation isn't the answer.....what is? Do you all think the oil companies should be required to clean up their own messes or not? Should people who's income and jobs are effected by such a spill be compensated? if not.....why not. Hard as it may be for nmysys to believe, I am actually interested in what people think.....this thread started out with the possibility of opening a discussion, could we get back on topic and actually look at the issues?
